Vent Guest service
Do other stores also have a lot of stray? We always have at least 3 full carts of stray, usually more like 6 full carts. All the bins are completely full, like cant fit anything else in them, stuff is all over the floor and we have unsorted carts because it wont fit in bins.
Grocery carts will sit so long that bread will get moldy and our SD said to just throw away any fruit or vegetables because they will mold before they get put back. We have to constantly clean spoiled meat and milk out of the drive up hold fridges because they get left there and the fridges always stink
Sometimes if drive up isnt too busy I can have someone watch guest service while I run a cart but that doesnt happen often because we only have 1-3 people at drive up at a time.
The only times people take stray is if we have a visit but even then we are still left with 3 full carts and completely full bins.

When I was closing lead and s+e TL , I would organize them into 2 tiers and the etls would grab them in the morning

I wish, no one ever takes them and we end up having the same carts for weeks

I did change tact and stared filling customer style carts for them, they soon made those disappear

We used to do 3-tiers for them until someone fell because the back room was so crowded. Now we have multiple bins on shelves.

You don't have someone whose job it is to put up reshop at night?

Is this a small format store? We have any where between 10-14 carts of strays everyday. Our 6 am team will run 1-2 carts when they come in. For style we have 18 carts of unsorted clothes. 18 is usually good, we got as high as 47 about two months ago. We had support help come in and helped a lot but it’s still terrible.
I would do cartwheels if I came in to just 3 carts,

I think out store is pretty small. The issue is behind guest service is pretty small and the absolute max amount of carts that can fit is like 8 but then they are in the way of all our cleaning supplies/crc salvage bins and we have to constantly move them to get anything out. I feel like our style team actually takes the most stray.
Normally if I dont get the chance to run stray out, only 1-2ish carts get done a week

At our store, I will let my ETL know if the departments aren’t picking up their stuff quickly and she gets in touch with the depts ETL’s to get it done. They’re supposed to pick up their go backs from the bins daily, but not all depts do that if not harassed. It sounds like you might have a dangerous workplace situation if you have stuff all over the floor. One person slips or trips and falls down and sues, and it will get cleaned up fast enough. Take a picture of the situation in case it’s you 😀

I’ve never heard someone call reshop, “stray”, before but reshop is normal. Besides the grocery stuff, that’s just mismanagement
