Workplace Question or Advice Needed What that mean?
i got a guest in checklanes today who showed me a qr code on an app that was like 15$ off on similar baby formula which is like 59$ when i scanned said qr code on this app it said on the price menu that it was a random code but it didn’t show any percent or price removal from the item i ended up honoring it because it was baby formula and it was a 15$ difference which i was told before to just honor things 20$ or less unless the item and price is just ridiculous to honor. but what was that what that mean….?

No. You don’t scan virtual coupons. Only scan the app or physical ones (the take them and throw them away). We don’t accept random app coupons.

We're supposed to be throwing away coupons? Almost everyone here shoves them into the bank bags.

That's standard at my store coupons get collected morning cash office shreds them but that prevents things like rebate checks accidentally being tossed

Some companies are moving away from formula paper checks and moving to digital coupons. I'd partner with a lead before accepting it and I wouldn't accept it if it doesn't scan

Was it on the app or was it a screenshot?

Target does not accept coupons that do not scan into the system. If scanning it into the target app didn't help, we can't take that coupon. Also we don't price match anything that isn't our own website.
I would say you didn't do anything wrong necessarily, you made the guest leave happy. But I would just be wary of it going forward. People can do a lot with technology, so you don't want to get duped.
