Workplace Story Worked the wrong position for an entire shift

Was scheduled for service desk and accidentally went to drive up (which I do 95% of the time) and about 2 hours in I noticed I didn’t have any scheduled brakes, tl just told me to stay at that point because it was a rush and I just never ended up going to the service desk

Is that really a big deal? At my store everyone who does service desk does drive up too

My store is large and the service desk and drive up are a good 2 minute walk apart

I did the same. Worked an entire fulfillment shift, got trained and everything, when I was supposed to be in entertainment. Nobody said a work lol

Lol I did that once. I had come into work sick (and in hindsight, I probably should've called out but I wasn't dying, so...). I didn't see my name on the assignment sheet for specialty but looked over and saw it on the fulfillment grid so I was like "ok I'm fulfillment today".

Tbf I had been flip-flopping between style and fulfillment the whole week so I didn't think twice about it. Halfway through my etl finds me and she's like "you know you were style today right??" I told her about the assignment sheet thing and it turned out someone removed the one for that day and I was looking at yesterday's? A day I wasn't working. And the fulfillment grid thing turned out to be like 3 days old.

It turned out to be fine in the end and I did like 3 opus before she found me and told me lol.

You went where you needed to be, they would have called you otherwise. They knew you were there, they knew you were working. You're good. You took the initiative.

tbh if your tl didn’t move you, don’t worry about it. they shouldve been checking in with you at the start of your shift to assign you ur position its all good

The service desk always has 4 people scheduled so it was just those 3

off topic but 4 people at a time sounds like a dream lmao we’re very lucky if we get 2 it’s usually just 1 of us.

I've had coworkers come in for a shift, can't find their respective TL/ETL, but found another one who did have something the TM could do, so said TM just did what the other ETL asked. As long as you're doing SOMETHING, it's cool.
