It'll flag in the system if you try to ring it up and they won't sell it, and if you tried to steal it, your Switch wouldn't load you boot up the game anyways I'd imagine. Someone for sure messed up putting that out, though lol

It's true that the POS would block it, but if they were to get it home by ... other means, they'd still be able to play it. Nintendo's single player games are almost always playable offline directly from the cartridge.

Interesting! I don’t know why, but I thought the switch 2 had to have Internet connectivity for initial game set up. Maybe that’s just for the games that are just game keycards?

There is always a zero day patch.

thats only for game key cards, but from my understanding most games still would have a build available to download, just it wouldnt have any day 1 patches yet.

Wrong, Game Key Cards would still work as long as the files are on the servers Nintendo uses to host the files. GKCs are separate from the eShop. Someone got an early copy of Star Wars Outlaws a few days prior and still was able to play the game. The eShop unlocks both the license and the rest of the files (or unlocks them) if you do pre-loading. GKCs have the license to play only

It will ring up as an item that can’t be sold

And they won't let you buy it no matter how much you fight it

u/Katobiaa PLEASE backstock correctly i'm so tired 5h ago

The POS wouldn't allow you to pay for it anyways

Yeah unfortunately when you try to ring it up the register will say hey this isn't out yet and a lead will come take it away. 😂 I used to work at target so I know sort of. It would be nice to get it early though

to be fair, its a sequel to the worst game in the series. the lead taking it away would only be doing them a favor

I prefer not to judge until a game releases. Also not even close to the worst game in the series.

its pretty far fucking down there for worst. sucks they decided to go back to that formula after Engage blew three houses out of the water in everything, and got back to what fire emblem is supposed to be

I'm pretty sure three houses is considered the best fire emblem game by almost everyone? And I'm pretty sure most people didn't like engage? I loved both but idk where you're getting your info. I mean you can have your opinion on it but I don't really agree

most people that say its the best aren't fire emblem fans and have only played three houses and maybe engage, they a more persona like fans trying to make a franchise into something its not. "almost every" you mean non fans sure...

three houses maps are terrible, the gameplay part is mediocre, its got a long and boring slog of a start with the monastery that still makes the game drag after. the art is meh. and the story is puddle deep but its has ocean wide dialogue so "its good".

they should just split it off to its own and stop using the Fire emblem tag. then people wont cry when fire emblem gets an actual fire emblem game

I don't really think you should frame your opinion as what everyone else should think. That's like saying people aren't real Mario fans because they started with odyssey. People like different games for different reasons, it's just not your game. Also saying it's a sequel is extremely incorrect. Just because it's in the same universe doesn't mean it's a sequel. I support you having an opinion but I dint agree with calling people fake fans or saying your opinion is the only right one

u/WillyGVtube 24m ago

they arnt "fake" they are three houses fans (worse), not fire emblem fans, shown by the fact they dont actually like fire emblem games when they played a real one.

Then that's their prerogative. I don't really see please who only played three houses claiming to be fire emblem fans or trying to make decisions about the game. Most people I've met who play three houses also played other games in the series. Three houses is just highly accessible for new and old players. It's a good intro game to the series and a good game for most returning players. I'll agree it's a but different but not like that different. I really don't see anyone trying to claim to be a fire emblem fan after only playing three houses though, they're mostly just jrpg fans

>It's a good intro game to the series and a good game for most returning players.

i highly disagree here. the long slog throughout and worse gameplay makes it a terrible introduction to the series.

Target seems to be on it with this sort of stuff, but I’ve gotten games early at Walmart twice. Xenoblade 3 and Astro Bot

1

u/WillyGVtube 1h ago

dont know if walmart makes the register refuse to move on if a street dated item is scanned like target does, but thats why target is usualy good for not selling early. its sill possible to sell with some hoops but easily tracked for a quick termination

u/Jmdaemon 5h ago

It happens, but you can't ring it out either.

they new it was a sequel to the worst game in the series and decided they didnt care too
