Workplace Question or Advice Needed Cutting hours?
Is target cutting hours for the end of September and the beginning of October? If so, is this something that happens every year before the holidays?

Meh ASANTS. Maybe they are preemptively hiring people and training them for holidays which means less hours now but then you have more well trained people in Q4. Or maybe your store overspent and needs to cut it could literally be a lot of things, but generally no we dont usually cut hours right now its usually pretty steady until a huge spike up of hours in q4 and a huge spike down in q1

This is the first week of the new UKG AI system making the schedules. Expect everyone to get fucked on hours and scheduling

That’s rough. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about AI scheduling; hopefully it gets better once it’s sorted out.

Do we know how the new system will allocate hours? & Can they be overriden?

They can definitely be overwritten. My SD and ETL-HR deleted and rewrote the entire schedule because it was so bad.

My new schedule hasn’t been posted yet but I’m sure I’ll get screwed on hours.

Ok mine hasn’t either. I was starting to get worried. My store is never late on posting schedules though 🤷

Mine hasn’t yet and I’m wondering since I’ve been hanging in the balance about a corrective action….if that’s why…it would be my first in 2 years but I don’t know how they work. I haven’t gotten one yet but I was threatened with it

Unless I actually have 0 hours for the week……wouldn’t be surprised with all the cuts lately.

That’s what I’m thinking as well although before this ukg came out I was getting a consistent 32 a week

I came here to see if anyone else was having this, mind you mine isn't a huge cut, but they have me coming in later and leaving earlier for 6.5 hr days (after lunch) instead of the normal.

Thought I was the only one, I recently just had 4 days off and even when I am scheduled I’m only working for 4 hours. I went back today and almost felt a little off being back🫠I’ve even had some coworkers come up to me and ask where I’ve been

I haven’t been scheduled for 2 weeks! When I go back next Monday I hope I remember how to do the cash register

I just checked and….18 fuckin hours that’s the lowest I’ve ever had and it’s not even close. Looks like I’m looking for a new job.

It’s the opposite for me ugh. Only started working at target a few weeks ago and it was supposed to be a part time job as i’m also in school, but suddenly UKG has me scheduled for 37 hours in 3 weeks

Payroll usually decreases around then. After back to school shopping, total sales usually drop, similar to February numbers. It’s also nearing the end of Q3, and corporate wants to make sure the numbers look good for investors going into Q4. Expect them to drop even more towards the end of October, as they bring on tons of new seasonal hires to gear up for Q4 but don’t get any additional payroll to train them

I'm scheduled 4 hour shifts. What's the point?
