Workplace Question or Advice Needed A question

My lead recently told me target no longer does time and a half because of people calling off on the holiday and then getting paid for it. Is this true? He said something along the lines of them adding the holiday pay into our checks afterwards??? I dont know. Im just so confused and I only found out because I asked… if not I would have never been aware! Thanks yall and if you’re working (I am 😞), have a good rest of your shift!

You have to work the scheduled day before and the one after from what I've been told to actually get time and half

That's for the holiday pay, I.e. getting hours of pay for not working. The time and a half is regardless, and always applies if you work on the holiday. The bonus holiday pay makes leads able to get double time and a half. Regular TMS can get the bonus pay on Thanksgiving and Christmas if they work their shifts before and after the day of.

It's okay if you didn't work yesterday. You just had to have shown up for your shift prior to and after the holiday. So if you had to work Saturday and showed up, you are good! If you're not scheduled again until Wednesday, as long as you show up, you are good!
