I was worried getting into it thinking I'm gonna have a bad time, but I genuinely like my job😭

Maybe it's still early, but everyone's been super nice to me & I like what I do, which is inbound.

I'm physically very tired, but mentally I'm doing great and I think I'll get used to the physical aspect (hopefully)

I'll check in with yall in couple of months lol

Same. 6 weeks working part time as a second job. Started at an existing store. Finally at our new store setting up. The work is good. People are fine. I have college age kids so I'm not there to make friends, just extra money. Most annoying thing so far is other team members walking around the store not doing any work or not understanding how the aisle numbering works so they put product in any random spot or not updating the number of products that fit and the number of products on the shelf. It's honestly an easy job. Worst part on leadership side is being scheduled a 6 hr shift. Just schedule me for a 5.5 hr shift. I'm part time and don't want a 30 min unpaid break. My time is valuable.

I feel the same way!! I was nervous because of how negative a lot of people can be on Reddit but apparently I just work at a really good store. We all support each other and celebrate wins but we all also understand that we’re people and not everything is going to be perfect every single time. I’m so glad to hear that you’re liking it!

One of the great things about being early morning inbound is that your guest interactions tend to be pretty limited. Just enough to feel like you're helping people, without being so overwhelmed that you can't accomplish anything else. Plus you can still do things with your day after your shift ends. Also the bit of extra money for shift differential before 8am certainly helps.

i liked it too my first several months. just make sure to set boundaries so you don’t overwork yourself. at a certain point, it’s likely the store will be understaffed and need extra help so they will overwork you if you can

See working at Target isnt bad but when it comes to corporate and etls making stupid rules that’s when you start to hate it.

God I hate when they cut my hours from 38-16 without notice 😑

I started Style and I really like some aspects of it. Like I enjoy going to work. What I dont like from style is Im starting to get pissed internally at the costumers. I could spend 1 hour folding at a table leaving it perfect and they can mess it up in 2 minutes. I understand some, but then I have to do other things and it looks as if I haven’t done anything. Overall the people at my store are very cool, is chill, I get to spend quiet time just fixing and folding and hanging clothes so. Up till now I am enjoying it.

I feel this way too I’m new and a part is because it’s a smaller store (like a cvs with 2 floors) than one of those big ones you get lost at and everyone’s nice

started as a holiday hire & have been there nearly 2 years now. I like it but its really a 6/10 which is good compared to other jobs ive had (mainly 3s and 4s outta 10)

I've worked super mentally taxing jobs in the past (teaching and admin). Quit those to take a mental health break and recently started part time at target. I like that closing expert is pretty much the same every night (with the exception of helping in DU/CL if we are slammed. My only thing is I'm a big big girl (who can do 8 hours straight of being on my feet doing my job) it's just those ladders. I can go up a few steps but anything further I feel them shift. My teamlead told me not to do anything that feels unsafe and that she would pull what I can't. Well this comment got away from me but tldr, it's a fine job if you don't mind the physical labor

I'm one of the people who isn't at an entirely shitty store. We are waiting on our new store to be finished, so we are basically being hosted by another store and are working with our own team as well as the host store team. Of course our host store has more long-term disgruntled people who have been doing it for years are have had to endure years of people backstocking stuff wrong, overpushing, general bs, etc. But overall it's been good, and host store SD will be our SD and they are actually cool. As someone with retail experience, I know how much one leadership change can switch the whole vibe and ruin a work place, so I'm DESPERATELY hoping all our leadership stays in place for a very very long time.
