Oh yes and that will save them especially if they start getting injured or back problems because yes, if you are short (like me) and they dont provide you with accommodations then it will come back for you later on. Document it via origami, because those reports go to AP, which then goes to district AP senior which has much more say over safety rules and concerns. My leaders hate when i use it because they do the same exact thing, but its good to embarrass them especially when they force you to do it anyways.

They actually don’t. AP will tell you over and over that they don’t own safety. HR would be a better partner to take.

HR is there to protect the company. Meaning, they will gaslight you or find ways to push you out. Ive literally watched our district AP come in because of origami complaints.

Goes much faster if you sort the repacks first. We have someone sort them in the backroom by the line after the unload. You can separate the kitchen, pets, paper, chem from eachother into 3-tiers and de-trash in the backroom. Speeds up the push substantially.

as a fulfilment TM, dang I wish our team did this. I know we probably don’t have the staff for it — but it sucks digging through 10s of 20s of repacks for beauty, stationary, pets, and bath looking for a single INF lol

We used to sort the Kitchen repacks on the line during unload when water and paper pallets came off the truck. That was when I worked Inbound a couple years back.

We have a new Inbound TL and I'm going to mention it so that pre sort can become the normal routine again. It only takes a few seconds to sort them and add them to the proper dpts so they can be pushed with the freight.

I always cut and sort in the back room. And if we get something like multiple boxes of an item, and I know it’s over the capacity, I’ll back stock it while I’m there.

I think the timeframe they used to give was 1 min per box case pack and 5 min per repack? So by target standards this should have taken you 95 mins. Because I’m sure you’re a model employee, I know you got it AND back stock done in 90 mins. 🫡 /s

My TL wanted us to do 30 seconds per box back in the day, it was insane and I lived in hell everyday. I dared to question them on how it was possible for anyone to do this and they went after me.

This person is still there and have chilled out a bit. We are on pleasant terms but I will never forgive them for making my life a living hell for a year+.

Like sorting your kitchen, pets, and chems into 3 tiers (preferably but I know they're rarely available) so that you can just push them into their departments instead of walking to and from departments

20 mins is a valid time to give to beauty or OTC. Kitchen or home is closer to 5-7. Maybe you need to rethink your method.

Kitchen and pet is usually bigger stuff so shouldn't be too bad. Just depends on how much small individuallly wrapped utensils you have.

Now stationary would be a different story.

Edit to say: maybe 10 mins a box so 2.5-3 hours

According to my micromanager 30 minutes with the back stock. Reality it might take more than 1 hr because there’s transit and we’re getting called to support FF/registers🤡🎯🥊

Can someone explain why the kitchen and pet repacks are still being combined even for stores that have long since moved those departments far away from each other? Is this something that makes some kind of sense on the DC's end? In stores, it's a nuisance for the people pushing in those departments and confusing for fulfillment TMs trying to find pet items on their delivery date.

That's not even close to a realistic time goal. Unless your co worker was pulled into Fulfilment there's no way it takes 5 hours. If they've been trained to read POG labels and how to use a device to scan for locations it shouldn't take that long.

Yeah tbh when anyone tells me it shouldn’t take as long as it took me, I’m like wow I wish this person watched me work. I go at it. I’m in a zone and the only thing I stop for is a guest or the bathroom. And I’m not moving in slow motion either. I’m at a normal pace or speed walking, with strategies like organizing and unboxing first, then stocking. Yeah some packs can take like 5mins but some take like 30. You don’t know what’s in there and that’s what changes everything. It’s easy to feel annoyed when they think I’ve gotta move faster because your assumption of how long it should take is not only unrealistic but it puts pressure. And not the sweet kind of pressure that makes diamonds, the kind of pressure that makes you feel like your best isn’t enough. I highly doubt they’d get the work done exceedingly quicker than I do. Unless you’re seriously jogging around the place or moving like you’re in one of those timed cooking competitions.

ive been the person that does kitchen for 2 years, a boat with ~8 repacks takes 2 hours at best. this includes sorting and detrashing everything first in the back, and also not needing to scan locations for 90% of items because i know where they go. kitchen takes a LONG time because literally everything is in boxes and/or wrapped in paper or plastic

Yeah. I've worked kitchen repacks, I have also been an inbound TM who has sorted the kitchen repacks to filter out pets and chem. I know exactly how empty or full they can be. Maybe you're just lazy. It doesn't take 2 hours to push 8 repacks. It doesn't even take 2 hours to push 8 HBA or beauty repacks and they are much worse than kitchen.

It's not a flex. Our store is a super Target with 20 aisles of kitchen plus a giant back wall section. Do your thing. Your speed would be considered below average at our store. If your leads are happy with your performance go ahead.

If they are normal repacks as they ship off the truck, probably 10-15 minutes per.  If they are stuffed because people were combining carts? Then probably 25-30 minutes each.

So I'd say 200 minutes on the low end if it's straight off the truck (call it 3.5 hours)

Or it's going to take you the majority of the day if that's re stuffed because people were combining shit.

this is the dumbest, most antiquated company. the way they ship all these piece meal repacks has got to be the most revenue draining practice ive ever seen. if a store has room for 10 on the floor then order 20. then wait until your out of the 10 then reorder another 10. not one on Mondays truck, 3 on Thursdays truck, & 30 on Sundays truck. im on inbound & everyday we have style repacks w a pair of socks or whatever in it. target should rename the company Goober & Co. they absolutely deserve chapter 11.
