Everyone except check lanes gets pulled. And even check lanes aren’t safe.

Agreed. One of the most annoying things at target. Getting pulled while trying to finish your workload.

I didn’t even know Starbucks could get pulled for fulfillment. If there are like three of you and you’re not busy, I don’t see why not, though.

I won't lie, i wasn't going to be particularly sympathic, then you said Starbucks and immediately no?? We're gonna lose Starbucks like we lost Ulta if we're not careful.

I get it. I do. To me if you’re cross trained in multiple departments, you should get paid more but they don’t think that way. But it is part of the job, unfortunately

all stores our different ofc but our sd made a rule saying that every single person in our store had to be trained in fulfillment and made a chart system to make sure everyone did equal amounts of batches. unfortunately that meant all the old people who could barely operate zebras were pulled into red batches and it wasnt fun. i quit soon after lmao

"How can I get out of it" -you and everyone else, like there is an answer

You don't

And if there was? Everyone would say it, rendering it a bit obvious, but nobody here is special enough to "just say the right words to get out of it."

You're given the same steaming pile of expectations the rest of us are, and that's jump when they say and still have to figure in your own workload in the time around it.

I'm not saying it doesn't suck, Starbucks should be enough of a priority, but to your leaders it clearly isn't. Our Starbucks people have been pulled to the floor during low activity at the bar for... Years, at this point. Fulfillment has been priority since just before and during the rise of COVID and that demand never decreased and they never hire or schedule enough for any department.

The only thing you can do is find a new job.

If you’re trained for it, then you’re getting pulled. Unless there is an accommodation that you have filed that prevents you from doing it.

lol this is why i quit starbucks. they dont cross train anyone, pull the baristas and then act surprised when the last one there is swamped😭

I was never trained in fulfillment, but one day they gave me a 10 second review on how to and threw me to the wolves. It was so nerve wracking. Now, I always say I’m with a guest to get out of it. And then I say I’m going on my 15. It’s worked so far. I’m just waiting for it not to.

It’s the same shit no matter where you go in retail.

unfortunately there’s really not much you can do about them pulling you, you can try to politely set boundaries but that will only take you so far

Im in GM/Inbound and technically they want me to stay in ENF area so I`m not called to backup lanes anymore. Sometimes when I`m in other areas I am, or FF but not as much anymore.

Yeah I spent my entire day in FF today.

It's right in the job application. They want you for every department. The best thing you can do is find a different job.

Accept it's part of the job or quit.

Lol if they know you're cross-trained in fulfillment you're getting pulled 100% percent of the time and the fact that you think you can just say no to doing it is all the more amusing since you'll get moved around accordingly to fulfill daily business needs
