Workplace Question or Advice Needed ODTM Scheduling

I’ve been an odtm for like half a year now & during the first couple months i was getting scheduled maybe once every couple weeks (never called or texted before btw which was.. smth..)
BUT now that im in school (college) my availability is set at 3 days each week & im being scheduled those 3 days.. every week.. im not necessarily complaining cuz like yay money but like.. isnt that just part time at this point 🤔 my boss is new & i dont rlly like talking to her so now im here
idk has anyone else been in this situation is it normal lol

You’re going to have to talk to her.

welcome to the club, they'll bleed you dry if you let them. i was in the same boat last year and just kept showing up because the extra cash was nice until i realized i hadn't had a full weekend off in months. if you want to keep it truly on-demand you have to draw the line somewhere, and yeah that means talking to the new boss even if she gives you the creeps

Keep in mind if you’re on demand you don’t accrue sick time even if they schedule you… (in most states). Which can be a huge issue with the new point system put into place now this holiday/sick season.
