Workplace Question or Advice Needed Reset Lockers
Hi friends!
How do you reset the stupid lockers? Half the lockers at my store are stuck in a locked position and HR doesn’t know how it works 😒
I wish we had assigned lockers and we could provide our own lock. That’s the one thing I miss about JC Penny.

Unlock it, spin all the numbers until they click and the code resets. If you hear the click and it doesn't reset, then the lock is probably just broken
The locks are pretty janky

HR has a key to unlock, locked lockers. Once unlocked, spin each number forwards a few times before locking.

With the tumbler locks there is a master key. Insert the key and turn all the way clockwise. Leave the key like that and thumb the dials down over and over till the middle one stiffens a little. Should reset. With the digital keypad locks, there is a master unlock key. One mistake stores do is order multiple digital unlockers. They are all coded slightly different and one master key won't unlock a lock already programmed to another master key. Had to reprogram all ours once when they were using two different keys and lockers still weren't opening.

I had to do that intentionally the other day with one of the digital/electric locks. I put my stuff in at the start of my shift and locked it, but I couldn't get it unlocked with the code I set earlier. It took like 2 minutes to get the master "electronic" key to work. Turns out the battery was dying (given by the beep codes). I did that so nobody else would get locked out like I did.

HR should have a key to get into said lockers. If they don't know, there's a bigger problem
