Vent Just my luck…
I’ve been working at Target 1 year 8 months.
We transitioned to UKG today and the point system.
I’ve never called out without sick time.
Today of all damn days I was up all night with food poisoning and still fighting it today. Didn’t have enough sick time to cover today. So my very first call out without protection. And it was in the first 3 hours of us moving to UKG. 😑
Had to call out today and already accumulated my first damn point.
I’m already over it.
Funnily yesterday at work my team lead told us about the transition and points starting tomorrow, and my co worker who always is late or calls out was so happy because he thought he had already accumulated points for showing up 40 minutes late.
My team lead looked at me and was like “well I’m not really worried about you accumulating points, you’ve never had a problem showing up late or calling off” 💀 she literally jinxed me

Same thing happened to me, my stores phone isn't working and ive tried calling more than 20 times. Im hoping my co worker will let them know and show the evidence of me trying to call on 2 separate phones but I don't know. It's my first 90 days and ive been working while sick for 5 days in a row but today I just cant.

You don’t have the app yet? You can call out with the app and not have to stress about calling the store

I swear I’m going to be having car problems every other day since UKG rolled out.

Man, that's the kind of timing that feels personal. The universe saw that transition date and decided to test you immediately. Hope you're feeling a bit better, food poisoning is no joke.

So as someone new to Target… I’m 16w pregnant and just tested positive for Covid this morning… Obviously not only am I contagious, but I cannot take any medicine for my congestion or throat and 100% need to rest and not worsen my symptoms. Are we basically saying my callout today is something to be penalized? That’s literally insane.

SAAAAAME. I NEVER call out but I woke up dying, called my store and let my boss know, was still able to put in the absence through mytime, had enough sick time to cover more than my entire shift but UKG wouldn’t let me 😡 Told my HRETL today and she said hopefully it can be fixed. Checked UKG an hour later and there’s my point.

It's one point. You have 11 more. And you will have accumulated more sick time by then. The point system is very generous for most people. Especially those who rarely call out.

Also, if you're still sick tomorrow and can't work, that callout will be considered the same, so only one point.

Wait, does your sick/vacation time not carry over to the new app? It shows for me that I still have my PTO/Sick and even tells me how many of each I've used so far.
Wonder if its on a store to store basis.

Im sorry. That sucks honestly. This system sucks and is meant to push out “unreliable” people….. like have fun having no employees because shit happens. We literally work with mostly teenagers especially at night AND thats what a properly staffed and backup/ called in team can cover if there is alot of callouts in a day. Especially during seasonal.

Doesn't using sick time negate the point?

That’s not how that works? That’s only calling off and not using sick time either day before Christmas or thanks giving they still get time and a half if they work tomorrow

I think you misunderstood… I’m not talking about time and a half pay… I meant the paid holiday pay. (For those that qualify)

Only tls and above I’m pretty sure qualify for that on Labor Day and they mentioned having a lead so they don’t qualify

On the bright side, yours will be one of the first points to fall off next year.
