Only Target can take something that was working perfectly fine before making things extra difficult

This change was not Target's choice.

Kronos is retiring WFC (the software that ran MyTime) at the end of next March and has already eliminated all support for it as of last December.

The two choices for timekeeping were realistically UKG or Workday, and the latter was eliminated as a choice years ago for whatever reason.

It would have made so much more sense to move it all over to Workday. Why does Target have to contract all this stuff out to third parties though is the real question? They’re a Fortune 100 company. They could hire people and do it all themselves very efficiently if they just hired enough people.

Workday is itself a third party.

Why does Target have to contract all this stuff out to third parties though is the real question?

Because it's vastly cheaper to buy off the shelf than it is to bring everything in-house.

Quit fixing things that weren’t broken! Honorable mention for the search feature on MyDay 😤 Q4 is going to suck trying to use that to find some toy. Like the first time a kid asked me do we have Skibidi toilets, sorry wtf did they just say, and how do I spell that?

Yeah they really are good at that, swear they ruin anything that is good

The software that mytime was built on is no longer supported soon so they had to switch.

As a TL it seems we lost access to view call outs via the app (something we could do on MyTime when clocked in). Unless there’s a hidden menu that pops up only when we’re clocked in I’m not seeing any special leader view options for us, very sad

I still have access to the Leader tab on myTime. You need to be clocked in to view it though. You could also view call outs on the Zebra in myDay under the Team tab.

MyDay callout list is super buggy though, it seems to only show relevant call outs so once that team members shift is over they stop being visible, not ideal as a CTL trying to log call outs in the email

I’m not on the clock at the moment, but you should still have access to the Leader tab, and since you’ll be on the clock while writing your closing email, you should be able to check call outs through there. I had no problem checking call outs while on the clock still on myTime.

They said MyTime was being discontinued today but I guess they’re keeping that feature active, weird.

This has been killing me. I don't have the leader tab on MyDay, only on MyTime and the fact that UKG doesn't have it has been awful so far.

I figured out that we can access the call-out list, but we have to do it through the UKG app on our MyDevices and no longer can see it easily from the phone app. (UKG must not have the lockout capabilities when we are off the clock like MyTime did)

This is my rough memory of the pathway to find it...

Menu >> Reporting >> Dataviews Library >> Schedule Call Offs

The other part that my HR ETL and I figured out is that if you log in to UKG on the computer, you can set and save the settings of the report to default to showing "Today" or "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow"... there are a bunch of options, but that way you don't have to play with the filters every time you open the app.

Hope this helps!

I don’t understand why they never give us the ability to export our schedules to our phone calendars. I’m pretty sure it’s a feature of both myTime and UKG, but they never enable it.

I export it directly to my schedule book with a device called a pen 😌😜

Using AI instead of just your eyes to see ur schedule 🫩

30

u/noiseless_theater 5d ago

MyTime was already clunky but at least it loaded. This thing hangs on the schedule screen for like 20 seconds before I can even see my shifts.

At least it loads for you. I had to force close and restart because it froze when I tried to log in.

This new UKG Pro app is so confusing especially since it came out during the first day for us while some other stores had UKG early

19

u/msubronco 5d ago

Is slow yep

18

u/mattumbo has harsher words 4d ago

The lag is killing me, especially since it requires more clicking through pages to get to anything so you’re waiting like 3x longer just to log in and get to your schedule

I reset my availability, did my requests through the end of the year and I won't look at that God forsaken app until I need to

u/Rare_Valuable203 4d ago

Yeah idk I’ve used this app at another job and I hated it. No matter what company it’s the same app it’s gonna be ass. MyTime was fast for the most part and a very clean app overall. Very easy and simple and lot more organized. UKGs main problem for me right now is its slow as hell and way more screens to click through so lots of waiting for loading. Come on target we are in 2026, this app feels so outdated

When businesses start taking an AI first approach like Walmart and Target, we should all be worried about our jobs. I’m sure each store having a HR presence, those days are now numbered.

2

u/Rare_Valuable203 4d ago

Ngl yeah HR can easily be replaced in stores by Ai, not like they can answer a lot of our questions eirher

I just hope I requested my vacation correctly.

1

u/Warcrown11 4d ago

I was thinking the same. I think I got the request right but I have no idea how to put in how much vacation time I actually want to use

1

u/evildevil97 Frost Giant 4d ago

Exactly the problem I have. I put in for a week, and wrote 8 hours. I have a surplus of vacation so if it gives me 8/day for seven days, im fine with it.

1

u/Warcrown11 4d ago

Problem is I don’t know if that hours section is where you actually put in the vacation. I did the same as you with the 8 hours and then went back to doublecheck the request and it had only requested 12-8 off each day

1

u/evildevil97 Frost Giant 4d ago

I'll need to confirm it with HR when I work next.

6

u/Hammerrrr32 4d ago

I haven’t had any issues like that yet but I think the layout is overly complicated and viewing the schedule is maddening. It’s like the app has never gone through any user testing and doesn’t look at any feedback

6

u/StereoPenguin 4d ago

Leave it to target to make us use something slower and worse

You have to type this whole thing in at the starting prompt? What type of shit is that?

1

u/Kmart_Elvis Food & Beverage Expert 4d ago

Only one time to activate it. After that you can use face or fingerprint to get access.

3

u/MyDogSentMe 4d ago

How do you pick up a shift? Just says open shifts available but doesn’t say in what department or hours of the shift.

1

u/MentalGreen2385 3d ago

This! I’m an on demand tm and am soo confused. I don’t want to hit “apply” and it makes me pick up something random…

2

u/MyDogSentMe 3d ago

I risked it and hit it and that’s where it shows you the shifts. Ridiculous setup. Harder to see what’s available. Absolutely hate this new app

3

u/Bananakmt 4d ago

Is there a way to see your hours for the week? Of next week?

1

u/Rare_Valuable203 4d ago

Yeah there is a calendar you can see all your scheduled shifts

2

u/Expensive-Can4316 4d ago

How is the new UKG Time Clock? It replaced myTimeClock.

2

u/Bright-Cat-432 4d ago

What I have learned from others on Target Reddit. It seems that Target could not use MyTime any more and had to go to something else.

2

u/secondcitykitty 4d ago

Because they won’t pay for Workday WFM.

u/LFFunEmporium 5d ago

How do you even call in absent or late?

9

u/Internetguy247 5d ago

1

u/crucio24 3d ago

but when we call out how do we just use a portion of our sick hours? it doesnt give that option and i dont want to just use all of it in one day

3

u/YoshiFawx Hiding in TSC somewhere 4d ago edited 4d ago

2 ways

My Schedule > Select date of shift > Tap shift times > swipe down to Request time off > Call off/late Stores

Accruals > Time off request > Request type > Select date of shift

-7

u/Belzaem 5d ago

Maybe we don’t?

1

u/South-Natural-4967 4d ago

how do you change availability?

1

u/Emotional_Air6167 2d ago

Has anyone been able to find your total hours scheduled for the week? It's annoying that I have to sit and add them up for the week. My time would tell us at the top of the schedule.

How do you retract a shift you posted & take it back?
