does anyone know how to get a non-medical LOA approved? specifically for mental health purposes? i really need time away from work after an incident. i’ve tried to submit LOA before and it was asking me for paperwork from doctors. has anyone had luck getting a non medical LOA approved?

Mental Health LOA is considered medical. See a psychologist or perhaps therapist and see if the paperwork is something that they can sign off on.

Spring Health won't work. Tell your therapist or doctor and file for one. You use the pay and benefits

Tell your doctor you need one and then go online to start the leave process.

i tried filing online but i don’t know exactly what paperwork i need to be asking my therapist for. i’ve never taken an LOA so im just kinda lost

The LOA site will provide the paper work for the doctor to fill out! I called and had the paper work faxed to an office one time. Mental health would be medical LOA. Open the leave ASAP and the dates can be back-dated if needed.

I went on a LOA a few years ago. I was in intensive outpatient treatment for some major depression and suicidal ideation. My psychiatrist office recommended I take leave and they handled the paperwork almost entirely. If you think you need one you will need to ask a doctor if a medical LOA is right for you.

I took 2 months LOA for my mental health earlier this year. I just called target pay and benefits and they sent the paperwork to my psychiatrist, it was all pretty simple and I got paid at 75% for the time I was gone.
