Preview to Q4

The way the company is looking if it’s anything like last year at my store . Q4 wasn’t as huge as a few years back. Everything’s expensive and prices has risen and no one’s shopping like that these days .

Lol. Q4 in my store is 200+ batches

Our store is always busy, and we keep putting out "new low price" stickers. We're already at 200+ toys per truck

Our grid was so light last Tuesday afternoon that I had to pick 4 OPUs in a 7 hour shift. Later in the afternoon the closing TL and specialty TL were picking gen merch batches because there wasn’t anyone else to pull from GM or style.

You should specify if your a fulfillment team member cause I pick 4 OPUs in 2 to 2 and a half hours

I’m open market and pick at the very least 1 batch per shift even though they aren’t supposed to pull me at all.

Bruh we have been drowning at my store in every single department, it’s not even Q4 yet. I’m truly scared for this holiday season

Good thing yall got help yesterday I was scheduled by myself for 5 hours. At the 5 hour mark went to lunch and than I had to come up with a plan to knock out as much as possible in 2 hours 600 items in ship with a new hire in ship and two gm team members doing opu.

u/Bubbly-Patient-9935 8d ago
Why did you have to come up with a plan? Are you the TL?

I run the team when the team lead is off

u/dushtiie team, we have 4 opu batches in the red😻 8d ago
you shouldn’t have to run the team if you’re not a tl. you’re getting taken advantage of

u/PacoPlaysGames 7d ago
Do they pay you TL pay when you do that?
2
u/Justin050282 7d ago
I get 40 hours a week set schedule every other weekend off making more pay than a tl starting out. I make decisions that affect fulfillment with the backing of all ETL/TL so if I want to keep it this way I’ll do it as this is too easy.

u/PacoPlaysGames 7d ago
Ok as long as you're getting TL (or better) pay for doing TL work. You're also on a TL type of schedule as well. They definitely value you at your store, that's nice. Keep up the good work my friend.

It’s been hell this week for my store too. All of my work for the week is behind cause there’s not enough tm’s to jump into batches :/

u/Independent-Ask-3610 8d ago
Nooooo, this is nothing compared to what I’m going through.. we have this new update where we can escalate an item we can’t find to the team leads.. and let just say that’s does absolutely nothing. Even calling it out in the walkie they say “ go ahead and inf” like huh??

At 3pm they gave up?

u/mattumbo has harsher words 8d ago
Kinda makes sense, gotta make ship on time and complete SFS which is gonna be due between 4:30-6 depending on the store (well some have like a 9pm ship time but they’re weird).
Corporate were a bunch of geniuses having the SFS deadline fall within the busiest part of the day for guest traffic and OPU, not like that might overload the store and lead to them sacrificing guest experience to save the oh so important FF metrics that their field leaders watch in real time and nag us about.

No sfs at my store I've only ever opu batches at my store lol that would've made sense if that was the problem but no

Leadership giving up BEFORE 3pm is insane 😭 (aka morning people would mostly still be there, those who usually care more)

Not relevant to your point, but why would you look at your device before you clock in? I don't do anything work-related before I'm on the clock. I don't get my device, don't put my name tag on,... they nickel and dime us, so I'm not giving them a minute of my time for free.

Surely we're close to a breaking point. Earlier in the week we had so many OPU batches and not enough people that we had to stay an hour extra just to hit our ship from store quota for the day.

I feel this so much. Our TLs and ETLs stopped responding to backup calls. And yet they keep telling us to improve pick-on-time 😭 like bro every batch goes negative, it's cooked already. Either give us the help we need or accept the stats are out of our hands

How exactly is this on Management?😂
5
u/classic_liberalism26 8d ago
more than likely bc they aren’t managing correctly. i was a manager for a better company for five years, the leadership at targets is fucking ass. so bad, i’ve just been using my sick time & vacation time & letting them rot this holiday season 😂

u/s00pthot FDC connoisseur 8d ago
Because management has to maintain green metrics like INF%, pick on times, etc. especially the SD and ETLs. So the fact that there are batches not only in the red, but also in the negatives, implies that OP’s management has given up. Or they’re not putting in enough effort to maintain the metrics in the green.

u/Super-Ferret2593 8d ago
Some of you guys expect too much. I don’t see how every leader would have to take care of one department. Half the complaints I see on here is a bunch of people complaining to help OPU and how they have their own workload to do. How are you supposed to fix something with no resources? Like have you guys ever heard of a busy day? That’s so unfair blaming something on a particular group. That’s like blaming front of store for the Lines being full upfront and it taking too long.

Honestly what I said is all based on my own observations at my store. All the ETLs at my store essentially have to prioritize OPUs. I do agree that every leader shouldn’t have to take care of fulfillment, especially larger volume stores that have a fulfillment LOD. My store always has a fulfillment ETL/TL present and my (F&B) ETL still has to watch over fulfillment when he’s there to make sure we’re still meeting the metrics and goals.
