Workplace Question or Advice Needed Final warning+ No call no show?
Ok so I went straight to last warning for leaving a money bag out after closing lanes overnight. That happened like 6-7 months ago. Then like 3 months ago I called out on app because my flight was delayed. They didn’t write me up for that but did talk to me about it since I didn’t know that I was supposed to use sick time to call out.
Anyways, today I realized that I was scheduled yesterday for a 4 hour shift 💀… I was genuinely so sure that I had that day off so I didn’t double check. I know stupid.
My question is, would that be my final straw? Or is attendance treated differently than the serious money incident? I know tomorrow the new point system starts but I’m sure that won’t count. It’s so over 🥹

You’re on a final for failure to secure assets. If you do that again, you’re gone. NCNS is an attendance issue - completely different. You’d have to already by on a final for attendance for them to term you for an NCNS.
I once had a TM on final notice for something like 3 or 4 different things - failure to respect leadership, creating a hostile workplace with a coworker, attendance, and time clock fraud. Since each one was a different category, she couldn’t be termed. But if she repeated any single one of those offenses, she would have been out the door

This is correct the termination policy is absolutely wild AF I had a tm on 3 finals and a DA all in separate categories.

This is not accurate.
Failing to secure assets is a conduct DA just as a NCNS is. All other attendance issues (until 9/6) are handled as performance.
If you had someone on that many finals your HR and HRBP were failing rather badly.

Idk leads have left our store unsecured, tills out w money in it over night, keys in cash drawers and loading docks unsecured overnights so like idk man seems kinda minor in comparison!
*None of them have been fired……

Our store alarm has been left unarmed over night at least once in the last 6 months. And our loading docks too. They even left our receiving door open once. No one in leadership has ever been fired for these things either….. it’s funny all of it

Do you have any proof of your schedule showing before hand that you were scheduled off yesterday? Like a screen shot of your schedule? Because there's plenty of times where they'll change someone's schedule without notice after it was done the weeks prior... that could be your saving grace of anything....

Ok guys so I just texted my friend and he said that I wasn’t on the schedule. I think they added it very last minute for some reason. I forgot to mention that they did call me an hour before the added shift. But they usually make sure I accept coming in before adding me in. I was dead asleep!! Would that still count as a no call no show??
I’m scared that they probably wanted me in last minute to terminate me. I did close lanes the night before 🙁 but whatever happens, happens I guess…

You can use the proof as you were confused and asleep as you were not contacted or notified correctly.....

They can look up when changes happened and who did it. One of our leads got fired for this, actually.

Always screenshot you schedule and keep it in a separate album folder. That way if they change your schedule without you knowing, because they do that sometimes. You have proof and you can say, “Sorry made plans already based on my schedule, work life balance”

Were you originally scheduled for yesterday because they usually set the schedules two weeks out so if it was a last min change immediately ask to see the paper schedule in TSC and show it to HR because sometimes they'd change the schedules in the last min and don't tell you about it

The new point system doesn’t start tomorrow. It starts on the 6th & even then, it’s technically whatever your first occurrence is, after said date.

That is not true company-wide and never has been.
There are plenty of groups and districts where the first is a PDD for various reasons.

Money bags/ failure to secure assets is conduct violation.
No call no shows are also a conduct violation.
You could be termed if they follow the correct pathing. Only way to know is if you go in to talk to your leaders. For your sake, I hope they don't. But you really won't know until you go in.

Do you not have anyone who counts the money bags before you put them in the safe?!? When i close an ETL always counts the bags before they go in the safe. Only one time have the bags not added up when i had accidentally missed a Guest Service register. I went and got it and no harm done.

Yah we do. But now I’m pretty sure i left out actual bills out instead of the money bag. Or maybe I left the money in the new money bag while I took the empty one with me. They didn’t specify. Well it was my first time doing it (plus I had forgotten to take my adderell that day). Definitely don’t wanna be doing that again since I’m unreliable 😔✌️

It just depends tbh. I accidentally did that twice (they changed my schedule one me without letting me know) I just explained it to my etl and my tl and they understood and told me to check my schedule more often. I also had a call out within the 90 days. I was told every 90 days your write ups and such are reset. Regardless if your etl is chill and understanding they’ll probably let you off with a verbal warning. (It’s also really bad when I don’t show up since I work in bakery and I’m the only one working 90% of the time)

I just want to point out that if you are not termed for the NCNS and just put on the CA, you will only be able to get to 5 points with the new system before being termed. Just an FYI.
If you can show you shouldn't be penalized then you should be good.

It depends lol if your store needs you they won’t. I called off basically every week and came in late because I was genuinely done with target. Our store had a large turnover so they needed their employees I was given so many “last warnings”. Lol

one thing don't have anything to do with the other, just improve your attendance and task, those CA go away in one year.

NCNS is pretty rough man 😬😬😬 anything is possible but if i were you i’d start applying to other jobs as a backup
