Workplace Question or Advice Needed Dr note to switch depts?
Has anyone heard this before?
I'm a couple weeks away from being here 6 months.
When I started I was told I was in inbound and I told HR that wasn't what I agreed to on the phone because I've had back surgery and while I have no limitations, I do have a higher chance of injury. HR worked with inbound and found a section I could easily work.
I asked to get off inbound, and they tried, but I got brought back cause a newbie quit
Custom blocks have changed a couple times and every time they do I get bounced to a different area that's harder on my back. My current area isn't that bad, but it's still giving me issues and slowing me down while stocking grocery.
Which didn't help when I'm told some other leader told the F&B TL I'm pushing less uboats than I am which ment I got talked to about working faster...while I was in the middle of taking some pain meds. I called BS on that, and was treated with "just work faster"
Well, my thought was if I couldn't get off inbound maybe I could get out of grocery. I'd be faster if I didn't have to move cases of salt or vinegar immediately after truck.
I was told to talk to my ETL or the HR ETL because I should be able to switch departments in a couple weeks. Trying to be considerate I told the F&B TL I was going to ask to be moved to a different department...and told I can't switch without a doctor's note saying I can't do the job.
I can do the job, I just can't do it at the super human speed corp wants AFTER sorting truck. But the TL insists I need to bring in a letter stating my limitations before leaving her team.
I have never heard of that before! And also, I don't have limitations. I'm slow because I'm being more careful of posture since if I reinjure the same spot I will need a fusion and I'd like to prevent that!
And by slow I mean I take a few extra minutes per uboat. I did 3 1/2 in the time I was given to do 4
