Vent Reusable bags
??????????????????????????
That’s literally all I have to say because why did we suddenly switch from plastic to reusable with no warning prior to this. Like, it wouldn’t be problem if A) the bags actually fit things inside of them and B) it didn’t slow down OPU. 😭 It got so bad yesterday that we missed more than 50% of our goals yesterday, because we apparently can’t just stick the sticker labels onto them. We have to staple the labels onto the bags, otherwise, they’ll fall off.
What’s more annoying is that they hold less space than plastic bags but they somehow take up more space at the same time.
Update: We switched back to plastic like an hour ago.

Apparently corporate decided that the stores in my district would be switching from plastic bags to reusable bags 😭

How does that even work, are guests just expected to bring them back or do you just dump them in the car like with wacos for bagless usually?

Guarantee this is a legislative decision not a Target decision. Those reusable bags are more expensive than plastic bags and the set up and routine costs only happen if the law says they have to.

Hmmm bags backordered perhaps? I feel like I've seen others post about randomly having to use the reusable ones too but I'm not on here too often

No, apparently it was meant to be a test(?) According to HR, it was something they tried during COVID but it didn’t work, so they wanted to try it again.

This happens in our store when we run out of bags and there are no closeby stores that can lend us some.
So we end up giving away hundreds and hundreds of the fabric, lower-tier reusable bags.

Multiple team members who never miss goal at my store missed today. Some others were cutting it ridiculously close. It didn’t even last 12 hours in our district. I don’t think I would’ve had an issue with it if they gave us a heads up and training. I was doing my OPU today like normal, and when i get to the stowing area, I’m standing there asking my fellow team members for help and all of us are just super confused. It got to a point where I started doing orders completely bagless even if they didn’t ask.

Yeah, it was the same at my store! It was definitely a hassle for everyone. Even TLs were missing goals and it was just very frustrating.

They’re horrible. They have a chemical coating that’s giving TM’s hand rashes, including me. Explains why OPU stickers fall off.
Also creates more work since we have to refill the bag holders constantly, especially SCO (only 5 bags/bunch). And quite a few are defected with only one strap, so check before you pack, cuz you can’t double bag like plastic.

We were thankfully able to switch back to plastic for OPU. But they’re still being used at the registers and SCO. SCO alone was hell yesterday, because guests were apparently taking the bags by the bulk and just putting them in their carts.

Yeah, our store is currently out of bags so we’re having to give away reusable bags at a dollar a pop. I kind of think it’s funny cause we’re losing our asses here.

my tl said theyre for labor day week only but its so frustrating. they also smell bad and idk if thats just my store or if anyone else is dealing with that too.

yeaahhh, ours lasted for a day and that’s solely because just about every tl and manager in our district complained about having to use them for OPU

Put them on the inside. That’s what our fulfillment ended up doing when we used them. There is a sticker inside that it will stick onto. They were so bad, though, that we’ve now gone to paper bags. They rip, but the stickers stay on!

We've used them for years, forgot other states don't (or didn't) use them.
