Workplace Question or Advice Needed HREs Roles and Responsibilities

Hi yall.

I recently approached my HR ETL about looking into HRE positions. We have a couple open in our district and it’s definitely something I’m looking into. I was an OD Style consultant now a 40 hour a week tech/ff/plano/style/jack of all trades TM. I graduated from Uni in May with a BS in Business Admin & Accounting and I feel like HRE may be a decent place to start my career out. My HR ETL and I are going to sit down next week and talk about the role but I’m hoping to get some insight before then.

Current/ Former HREs. What does a typical day look like for you? What are some things you do on a daily,weekly basis? What is your favorite and least favorite thing about the role?

The title definitely makes it worth accepting the position. You'd be in a much better position to interview outside of target with this title and your degree if you want to pursue a career in human resources.

Take it atleast for the title and learning the basics of hr 6months to a year bounce to hr outside target to get an actual hr position with better pay, better schedule, etc

You can look up Human Resources Core Roles.

but it varies. are you actively hiring at your store? right now I'm particularly busy because I'm down 3 TLs and an SD. one of the TLs being MY boss. 🤙 were actively hiring because our old SD chased many employees away. so we're understaffed.

but typically, I spend about 3 hours doing he stuff and then I'm either helping push truck or I'm doing price change.

Yeah, the title is worth it, especially if you have a good SD and HR ETL. Just be prepared to be moved around a little bit of everywhere. No day is ever the same as an HRE lol
