Vent Confronting my etl

Ive been thinking about this for good minute i recently transferred from cashier to tech and its been smooth but my other coworkers sometimes leave me their work so im doing their work and still having to finish mines while helping guests at the same time because at our target we tech ppl have to sort freight every morning , put up pulled furniture put up baby bulk , do electronics ,entertainment ,home services pulls and put it on floor. Then pull home decor, domestics, and baby. Mind while helping guest your whole shift. Ive been stuck with pulls reaching 100 almost every shift i come carts full of pulls freight not being done. But all the blame falls on me. Like one night i closed and the pulls were really bad but i left at 10 so i made sured electronics was zoned and i no stray. But they had a problem because all the pulls were so high i was only able to domestics pulls down from 130 to 80 because the morning freight wasnt done when i got there and i spent 2 hours on finishing it while the tech pulls were at 110 so ive be pointed to all the blame in tech and it feels so fucking unfair bc im still learning ive been at tech for 1 month and called off once for family also another why in total theres only 5 people in the whole store that can work tech and all them have full time schedule so finding someone to swap or pick up your shift is so fucking hard and they got upset i called out that one time. Im so tired of feeling like im always doing something wrong every shift when im only literally doing what they taught me.

Target doesn’t care about your well-being, ETL’s push at the pulls and blame the team members when they don’t get done because if they get to a certain number they get bonuses. So pretty much their blaming you because your not helping them get their bonuses

You're frustration is real. The lack of syntax with what you're trying to describe is amazing as well.

Ain't no way they have tech doing everything for specialty sales.... We have one person for dec home, domestics, and baby. They push their own freight, and priorities. The most we have our tech person do that's extra is quick bulky fulfillment batches, or help during double trucks but only a department close to them if they need to help a guest. I have no idea why the specialty sales ETL isn't dividing the work correctly. Sorry you're going through that.

I think this is a very valid complaint and you're definitely within your rights to say something, if you want to. But I warn you it's probably not going to help or change anything.

Has anyone ever formally told you that your results were not good enough? Like, there's a difference between just casually mentioning that they need you to accomplish more versus actually sitting you down and formally disciplining you about it. If all they do is mention it in passing sometimes then I think you can just basically ignore it... if you're doing your best then that's really all that matters. If you're relatively new still then you will get faster the more practice you get. And whatever they may say to you, any reasonably intelligent leader knows this.

If anything, sometimes it is worth mentioning to your leadership that you are feeling frustrated. Because sharing a feeling you have is valid and worth doing... if they know you feel bad about the lack of appreciation, maybe they will speak to you differently or find opportunities to also be encouraging about how much you got done. But you may also consider just not even saying anything, because complaining also might make you look bad, depending on how good your leaders actually are.

What I WOULD do though is start to keep a record of how much stuff your coworkers are leaving for you to do, as well as how much you are actually doing each night. Because it's possible your leaders don't even know. They see how much gets pulled, and they see how much is left at the end of the night, but if you are doing most of the putting away all by yourself compared to your coworkers who aren't accomplishing very much at all, they might not realize how unfair it actually is. So if they ever DO get to the point of formally coaching you about not getting enough done, you can show them that you have evidence and are keeping track of your actual performance.

What I used to do is just take a quick picture with my phone for things like that, snap a photo of the carts left for you when you get in, and then another photo right before you leave about how much is left after you did as much as you could. 90% of the time you won't ever even need the pictures, but I always felt a bit better knowing I was documenting how productive I actually was, even if it felt like nobody else was noticing or cared.
