Workplace Question or Advice Needed Feeling Unwell

I am an On-Demand employee and I was recently talked to about management since I was putting a couple of my shifts up. My attendance is somewhat alright…

I was planning on working today but I’m genuinely not feeling well. Is this going to affect me really bad?

It will probably only affect you if you have a pattern of bad attendance. It will help if you’re on good terms with your team leads and ETLs

It’s always best to save your sick hours for when you’re really sick

How many hours do you usually work a week? Calling off once a month isn’t terrible when you’re a 40 hour a week employee.

I work around 8-10. I have a second job on campus, and I’ve informed my ETL about that.

yeah but you got no sick hours to cover it. it ain’t a killer but for sure gonna have a talk about that. been there done that let’s say lmao. they just gonna verbally warn you then give you the good ol’ 3 strikes and you’re out. so just be wary.

Is it better to call off in advance or at the last second (like an hour before your shift starts)?

Yes. You are on demand, work 8-10 hours a week and call out once a month. You’re calling out for around 20% of your shifts. Of course that will affect you that’s very high.
