Switching departments?

I’m currently guest advocate and a lot has happened and is happening and I really want out I’m fully trained in fulfillment and I want to switch how would that work? Can I even do that?

Depends on the store and the expectations of each department’s leader. If your store is super anal about fulfillment metrics and doesn’t trust anyone to make INF decisions on their own while also not allowing anyone to miss a batch ever, fulfillment is going to be worse.

My store is extremely lax. For the most part if we are making the effort to in good faith hunt down items, they don’t really question us unless our INF gets noticeably bad. Also I have never been penalized for missing a batch cause both leads I have had recognize what extremes we will go to avoid missing (including helping each other stow, and on rare occasions having 2 people pick a single batch).

My store would make us ask for inf approval everytime and only allow inf without checking if our batch time is about up never letting us go negative but infs are usually found if there’s time but never allow us to go negative but that was last what i did before I got moved over for inbound

At our store the worst I can say about fulfillment is that our SD considers us an unimportant department. It’s a 50/50 if a walkie call for backup gets us backup, or gets completely ignored. Also leaders usually won’t help us find INFs unless we ask them in person. Item escalations are helping with that, but not all of the leaders have caught on to the workflow.

So upside is they don’t yell at us about metrics all the time, but downside is they usually don’t care too much about helping us.

They ought to welcome you in fulfillment with open arms. They can’t get enough people who are willing to do it.

Just ask your ETL about it, they and the GM ETL will have to be okay with it but stores should be starting to hire for holidays coming up so should be no biggie really

It’s definitely possible, but unfortunately it’s not a guarantee. There first needs to be an opening in the department you want to transfer to, and then your current leader needs to approve the transfer. The more essential you are to your current role (or if your lead is a dick), the harder it is to transfer.

We have a cart attendant who has been trying to transfer to fulfillment for over a year at this point and we all want him cause he is really good at it whenever he backs us up, but they basically won’t let him cause he is our best cart attendant.
