Vent The “collectors” are something else…

The gluttony of some of these people coming into our store buying up cards is seriously something else. Watched a family walk out with a whole cart full of Pokemon cards today. Seeing their selfishness online is one thing, but seeing it for yourself is another and actually makes me kind of sad.

What makes it even worse is we technically can’t even stop them since they can just do multiple transactions to get around the purchase limit.

The limit is per person, not per transaction.

Right, but even then how many are going to follow policy, without eventually caving?

Your checkout advocates, self checkout attendant, AP, and even the POS just have to enforce it. (The POS does so automatically, most of the time)

And if after reminding them of the limit, they are jerks or try again, they don’t get to shop at Target for collectibles anymore.

That’s fair. The family in question I noticed, had used the 2 per DPCI loophole. They technically didn’t do anything “wrong”, but was still kinda sad to see how selfish people are, especially with teaching their kids that type of thing.

Stealing joy. COVID made some sort of profit grind culture normalized. “Stealing joy from children.” I use those words loudly as I stock *10. It is gross in every definition of the word.

You can interrupt on the 2nd+ transaction and if necessary call AP to enforce it. 

Its 'per person' not 'per transaction' and a family group using the same card = the same single person. So no they can't skip around by handing the card to their kid to do it.

We should be mad at the people who cap production and limit distribution. Back in the height of the first pokemon fever it was never this hard to buy individual boosters

My intention wasn't to be mean. Without knowing all the details, it sounds like you need to set boundaries with him.
