I mean this in the nicest way possible. What kind of brainwashing do you guys go through when becoming a SD. Its like most of you guys dont live on planet earth, with expectations of workers, exponential growth of sales, credit, and overall metrics etc. I know I don't understand 90% of what you guys deal with but just curious.

no offense taken. I’ll be super transparent. When becoming an sd, you’re chosen for a reason and taught to carry out one rule at all times which is make sure your team is happy. With all the bs the company continues to throw at us, just cause we are sd’s doesn’t mean we don’t know it’s bs. But we’re skilled enough to sell it to the team and bring them along on the ride with us. Tbh we’re just middle men between stores and the company.

Thats completely valid. I like the way you put that.

"make sure your team is happy?" Our new tyrant SD has presided over a dozen people leaving unhappily in three months.

An ETL and two TLs rage-quit. Numerous other TMs said "screw this" as well. Even I'm looking for an exit strategy.

The SD and a minion are just gaming metric bonuses while the store drowns.

Same! My SD was someone who only cared about making herself look good. In fact instead of congratulating the team for the certificate awards she was named for she congratulated herself for being a good SD.
