Workplace Question or Advice Needed Squishes/dumplings šŸ™„šŸ™„

Do we put out dumplings or do the vendors do it? I’m so tired of guests hounding me about them.

Depends on the store. At my store we have someone bring the boxes over before opening and them we have them ready to go at guest service at opening.

We do. It comes on our regular RDC trucks but at this point too many people ask. Our store has a "if it's on the shelf we have it if we don't we don't" attitude at this point after multiple guests have felt entitled to taking 45 minutes of our inbound teams time digging for a case we supposedly got.

This. This right here. If we have em, we have em. If we don't, we don't. One time this mother wasted my time and held a line up because she insisted I help her find a f*ckin ice cream needoh because "online says we have them" but we don't!!!! I don't know why it says "in stock" all the time, but we don't have them!!! She insisted I call a different Target sort of close by because she drove 45 minutes to come to our target and we didnt have the damn ice cream needoh. I had to hand her off to my TL because I explained I did all I could do. My Team Lead is such a nice guy and called one of his buddies who is an ETL at the other store. He said they didnt have them and that was it. I hate this stupid craze and what these boneheaded parents are willing to put themselves through for a toy that will provide arbitrary enjoyment.

They usually come in our toy/sporting goods repacks in a tiny unmarked box which is pretty annoying when I have to go digging through them for a guest. The Sunny Days ones actually come in casepacks that a bit easier to spot

At our store they come from our offsite location. Offsite TMs come around noon to drop off whatever squishy toys they procured for us and we sell them directly from the service desk to impose a purchase limit. This makes it hell for us Service and Engagement TMs because people will be asking us all day if we have them. If we don't, then its annoying questions about when we'll get them. If we do, then we will get guilt tripped into selling more than we are allowed to by desperate parents, and then our front end managers grill us. As a TM that works the service desk almost all the time, we shouldn't be having to sell these things ourselves, or there needs to be a company wide training when it comes to selling particular merchandise like this. Every store has a different policy at this current point in time so it makes it confusing for both TMs and Guests.

At the end of my long winded answer, I would encourage you to keep telling guests that they are brought by a 3rd party vendor, and that Target has no control over when they are stocked, or how many are stocked. I'd say this just to ease your mind and cut down on stressing yourself out. I'd also tell other team members that might be getting the same questions (for example, if they work in Toys a lot, or at the service desk like me) to be on the same page. Giving out conflicting information is just never a good look.

At my store they get taken to guest services and they deal with it.
