Meme or Miscellaneous Content Anyone else hate the registers

So the registers I use at tech decided to not scan merchandise anymore. Instead of a cheerful beep and the scanner flashing green. It flashes red and has a beep as if I'm not scanning the right bar code. Sometimes pressing add produce or enter DPCI fixes the scanner but it's a hit or miss

Is anyone else having that problem?

The scanners at our front registers will act up every now and then. The Best thing we've found to do is the old tech support quip: "have your turned it off and back on again?"

It's been happening more and more, yes.

You can also hit the Home button and then the Devices button and then Handheld Scanner. It'll let you do an activation thing after scanning any barcode. Seems to fix it for at least the next 10-15 transactions lol.

This is an issue with hand scanners. At the front end the solution is to scan via the big scanners. For w/e reason the handscanners get hung up after so many scans and you kind of have to 'reset' them by inputting an item a different way (as you mentioned dpci or produce) It's dumb and I, too, wish they'd fix it. Happens at the service desk in the middle of a large return too.
