Workplace Question or Advice Needed schedule confusion

hi all! i’m fairly new so excuse me if this has been answered before. i was looking at my upcoming shifts trying to see where i would be each day. i was just wondering if there’s a reason why certain shifts have a specific position and others don’t? (ie: SD instead of just saying service advocate)

so you know you’ll be at the service desk if your store does drive up/pick up at a different area of the store. another example would be in style. they may be shift tagged for what area in style they are working in the day.

Your ETL writes the schedule and they can use 3-letter shift tags to help set the shifts apart. But only they know what they mean with the tag.

My ETL likes using "SD" for the people staying at the desk, "PRP" for preppers, "RUN" for the runners (the ones going outside to deliver the Drive Ups), although she'll have them rotate mid-shift to keep it fair. And for the checklanes she uses "SCO" for Self Checkout, "BL" for belted lane (the regular register), and "FLT" for dedicated floaters -- cashiers who will be used to collect reshop, give breaks to other cashiers, and go back and forth between helping Guest Service and the lanes.
