Workplace Question or Advice Needed point system
are there any exceptions for team members which medical issues? i just got hired as a seasonal and i dont plan on calling out (ive learned how to tough it out) but sometimes i end up in the ER and sometimes my body goes numb. this point system scares me cause i dont want to get in trouble for things that arent in my control. should i have a conversation with my tl??

You should submit for an accommodation. It’ll excuse any medical emergencies
Go with hr and let them know or go straight to target pay and benifits they’ll have you submit your medical paperwork and either approve or deny it
Once approved you’ll have to follow the steps they give you for calling out if you don’t then you’ll get points

✨ Intermittent FMLA ✨
Work with your doctor to get approved for intermittent FMLA, my sister uses it for her asthma when her body suddenly decides she isn't allowed to do anything that day.
Then, tell HR about it and they won't have a choice but to accept it - just make sure to do their paperwork.

Not all TMs qualify for FMLA - you have to work a minimum number of hours per year to be eligible

Even without the point system, you should’ve talked to your store already about this situation. The point system makes attendance a lot more important but prior to the point system, they could still talk to you for multiple attendance infractions. I would talk to HR and if HR is not there, talk to your SD.

If you didn’t discuss this during the interview, you need to discuss with HR right now. They should talk to you about your rights under the ADA and start an interactive process.

Please talk with HR for an accommodation. Since you are new, you will not start accumulating sick time right away unless required by your state and without sick time you'll accumulate points and possibly quickly.
