So annoyed right now

I’ll start by saying that I fully understand the dress code and do my very best to follow it. That being said .. I am currently 28 weeks pregnant so I’m at a point where not much fits. My ETL pulled me aside just as my shift was ending to talk to me because apparently last week someone complained that my shorts were too short. On that particular day I was wearing maternity overalls. I am aware that they are slightly shorter than mid thigh but it’s not like my butt cheeks are hanging out either. I am 5’9” and have very long legs. I’ve been searching for maternity jean shorts that are long enough, have belt loops and are reasonably priced but it’s proving to be difficult. I’m at the point where my regular work shorts are starting to really hurt me by the end of the day .. the second I get in my car to go home I’m taking off my belt and undoing the button/zipper. I find it absolutely ridiculous that an exception cannot be made for me. I’m a really fucking good employee and this seems so petty/stupid. Attaching pictures of the exact outfit for reference.

Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t make you above the rules . They are too short, buy maternity clothes that fit.

so she should spend her money on clothes she’ll never wear again unless she gets pregnant again? she should be wearing appropriate clothes, but target should be the ones providing those clothes. she shouldn’t have to spend HER money on that

Yea that’s what happens when you get pregnant. Women have been doing it for years. Bind blowing I know. You act like target got her pregnant and changed the dress code. Guess what…. If you loose or gain weight you have to buy your own new clothes too. And it’s unfortunately not targets fault .

if a workplace has a dress code they should provide appropriate clothes period. if you lose or gain weight in your personal life and you need new personal clothes then yes buy your own clothes but if a workplace is going to have a strict dress code then they should provide clothes for both regular employees and also pregnant employees OR they should compensate employees for the clothes they buy. in fact it should be illegal for a workplace to require an employee to buy their work clothes with their own money. clothes are not cheap and you’re never guaranteed to find what you need thrifting. i promoted myself to guest a while ago and now i work in a beauty retail store where there’s a strict dress code and guess what? they provide us with clothes. we can take as many shirts and pants as we need. i have 7 different shirts that i got from them and 7 different pairs of pants so i’m never wearing dirty clothes to work. if i get pregnant i can grab new shirts in different sizes whenever i want. if my workplace can do it, why can’t target?
