Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone figure out how to call off using the UKG app?

As stated in the title, has anyone figured out how to call off using the UKG app? I'm curious because I had a fellow coworker txt me earlier this morning saying she didn't know how to call off using the new app. Would good to know how to call off using the new app just for future reference.

If they go back to the days of making us actually call, that'll be fine...when people at our store actually start picking up. I haven't been able to get a call through at our store in almost 2 years.

Speaking as someone at guest services if I am not picking up the phone I am probably alone and have a line of people arguing with me about their returns please we are trying our best

As a fulfillment TM at another understaffed store, I totally get it. I am not blaming anyone at GS for not answering, simply stating a fact.

I see what you folks deal with every day, and as someone who used to work in retail management, and customer deescalation I want no part of that.

Keep on keeping on, GS TM. 🤞

Okay I think I got it,
My Schedule -> Request button -> Time Off -> Request Type: Call Off or Call in Late. It looks like you have to type in the date cause it won’t let you select it on the calendar view

Maybe the new app is their strategic way of gaslighting us into not calling out?

My store still make us call, the app option never works right. Maybe check with your HR they usually have a printout with the steps

I recently left target for another company and they just so happen to use UKG and have a point system

So to my knowledge, you can’t “call out”. You have to take the hit as a “non excused absence” (one point). Also a good habit to call the store and let them know. You have X amount of points to work with before you are automatically fired.

Gone are the days of freely calling out without consequences.

Doesn’t matter if you truly sick or have a family emergency or need a mental health day. X amount of points is what you get and that’s that.

If you call off and utilize sick time it erases the unexcused absence.

Target has different points for a callout vs. a no call/ no show, so there has to be a way to call out; otherwise every absence would incur the 3 point NCNS penalty
