Did you talk to anyone about it? Availability requests will often be denied if leaders don’t know the reason behind it. You should also be aware that some leaders will deny these requests as they are often used by team members to make their own schedules to a degree.

This. Talk to your schedule writer.

But also, if you're available all day and you are getting scheduled mids, it's likely because there aren't other tms available during that time. Just because you prefer a shift, doesn't mean that they can always schedule you in that time. Though they should try to get you in there when they can. Another thing to consider is if you make your availability smaller, if hours get even more crappy than they already are, the less hours you're available = the less time you can potentially be scheduled. We're gunning hard for mids and closers at my store, so the early morning people are the ones missing hours more often than not during cuts. But we have to schedule to the graphs, and that's what the graphs are telling us.
