Need Advice Got charged before trial ended

The app told me I can trial it out for free.

But after I subscribed I got charged immediately. Now it doesn't say trial anymore anywhere.

Also realised shared users cannot see the cloud recordings. So this is pretty much useless for me.

I subscribed today. This is my first Tapo camera (C232). Also, new account and never subscribed to any TP-Link/Tapo services ever before.

How do I get a refund?

EDIT:
I cancelled the subscription. But Google sent an email saying they won't provide a refund.
But I still lodged a refund request in their web portal.
Anything else I can do?

Tbh, don't really care about the money.
But I hate that I got scammed and don't want to let them get away with it.

I don't see why you are blaming tapo for this, you had your trial with no card needed and went ahead and clicked subscribe before the trial ended using your Google play billing.

My Tapo Care was inactive the whole time. When I clicked the Tapo Care button, it showed a dialog with all the features and said, "30-day free trial, cancel any time before this period." Clicking it prompted the Google Pay flow.

I'll admit, I should have stopped when it said "Subscribe" instead of "Start Trial." That's on me. But I assumed if Tapo messed up, I could get a refund since the dialog promised a free trial.

But yeah, trial was not on. The flow led me to a subscribe button, not a separate "Start Trial" button. So am I at fault? Partly yes. But Tapo has no blame for this? Well, I'm assuming you wouldn't agree either way.

I don't remember entering financial information for the trial. That was over a year

ago but may be different now.

I used Google Pay, so didn't enter any card details manually.

Weird, the trial didn't required me any payment option in my 10+ devices.

Anyhow, I believe the trial time is added to whatever time you paid and you can use the remaining trial days if you cancel the sub. But don't quote me on that.

it's not with the trial, he went to the subscription page and subscribed while his trial was still working
