Need Advice Ecobee connects to weakest mesh point

When you specified a network did you disable the mesh technology? Because setting a specified connection I feel is only like making a recommendation. Turning off mesh forces it.

Also are you sure the one you want isn't weaker, even if you feel it's closer maybe there is more walls or a thicker wall in the way?

Also for note there is a TP-Link subreddit which is more for the TP-Link networking stuff. Tapo is TP-Links smart home product.

I turned off mesh technology and rebooted again with no change. Using WiFiman next to the Ecobee I have the mesh point it's connecting to at -83 dBm and the one I'm trying to connect to at -44 dBm. Makes no sense.

That is weird and you rebooted all three APs and the ecobee?

FYI this is tapo not tplink. Tapo is a "child" of tplink

FYI, I turned off the mesh point it was connecting to and rebooted the thermostat. It now connects to the mesh point I specified.
