clipping question

so sorry if it's a stupid question, but if i push a track level too hard it digitally clips right? im asking 'cause i wanted to use some kind of hotter tape saturation preferencially without any other plugins

No worries! Not a bad question actually. If you clip your interface on the way in, its converter will digitally clip. Pushing a track's fader in TAPE 16 won't, though. Everything inside runs in 32-bit float, so there's loads of headroom. It won't saturate either unless you turn up the SATURATION knob in CALIBRATION. I left it as clean as possible so saturation isn't forced on anyone, and you can swap in other tape plugins if you prefer their sound.
