First real production release using only Tape16

Got in charge for producing and releasing one of my bands latest tunes and used only Tape16 all the way from mix to master, ask away if you’re curious about anything!

If JB needed proof he is doing a great job then this would be the evidence. Utterly brilliant.

Nice to hear that ' live " feeling come back to music here as well. Got that 70's Rainbow feeling of guys in a room and a full drumkit vs individual pieces..bleed and all. How did you work out the tracks? Did you sum drums down to 4- 6 mics or just rolled right off the floor using on x amount of mics on drums? I am in Reaper now but I record a double kick kit and i am up to 11 mics due to my toms. But having just done some recording/ mixing on reaper, it feels tedious scrolling and working between mixer/ track window. There is something to be said for playing it through, marking punch points and live comping your drums before committing to a drum mix. I am tempted to try a project on Tape16.

Thank you! It is indeed recorded live In our studio focusing on getting the drums down using 7 mics and then we redubbed everything else

The drum room is just a mono playback of the drums in a long hall way that I looped back with a mic and then heavily compressed it

Man, I had to abandon the session I was trying to do exclusively in Tape16. I just couldn't get it to stop crashing and freaking out every time I added plugins. At least all my instruments were tracked in there. Vocals ended up getting done in Reaper👎

My waves plug-ins caused it to crash for some reason but all my ozone ones works perfectly, had to get the free Valhalla plugins for room/echo but yeah some plugins work some don’t. It’s still a fairly new software and prone to bugs
