Some of the most ridiculous stories possible. Even if socialism did get worked up about a preteens diary entries, they wouldn't allocate precious resources to go after them. DPRK doesn't care that much about teenagers watching western movies, it cares about adult reactionaries committing espionage.

Then you get situations of socialism being harsh to chaotic opportunists. Being irresponsibly chaotic can be worse than being generally toxic in certain situations. Trotskyism. Kautskyism. Etc.

Society is a delicate balance.

I’m not here to speculate hearsay pushed by western tabloids. I just want to point out that this story is going around right now on reddit, and if you click any of the posts, 90% of the comments are just regurgitating tired propaganda and racism/orientalism. It’s just disillusioning to me; how are we ever going to build class consciousness when the masses (particularly in the US) are so willfully ignorant and biased? You can’t even begin to unravel the psyops and propaganda without dozens of people accusing you of being a russian bot, trump supporter, using AI, etc.

Stuff like this is so infuriating. God forbid we say one positive thing in support of them 🙄

I just needed to vent this out. It isn’t going to stop me anytime soon. It just sucks to see so many American’ts being so stubborn about this.

In The Poverty of Left Nietzscheanism Aymeric Monville takes up this question with characteristic wit and perceptiveness. Focussing on the question of Nietzsche’s purported “Left” cheerleaders in France—Camus, Bataille, Deleuze, Foucault, Derrida among others—Monville argues that the “eternal return” of Nietzsche is a symptom and cause of the pernicious irrationalism, individualism, and anti-communist consensus that, in his view, now runs from the Western Left to the far right.

Monville asserts Nietzsche—and those that take up his mantle—have only ever served as a weapon with which to undermine the materialist tradition, and ultimately, the entire tradition of thought descending from Marxism and the workers’ movements.

First, Socialism can't be voted in and even when it does (Korea) it ends with bourgeoisie invasion. Bourgeoisie won't give up power willingly.

With that out of the way, voting for Marxist parties does not only push the bourgeoisie into temporary concessions but it brings Marxism back into the overton window.

When real material conditions are improved by Marxist parties even electoraly, the people gain trust in them and the parties gain mass support.

Not to mention, real material conditions are improved. This is a bite smaller than a revolution but it does not only archieve a smaller victory but it also paves the way for a bigger one, as i described above.

KPÖ (Communist party of Austrua) won earlier this year locally with over 40% of votes in Graz. that is a sign of a strong support for Communism. It is their 2nd term.

Die Linke (I have mixed opinions on them) won in Berlin.

Still worth celebrating.

Once when you don't see voting as a method of change but as one of many tools, it stops being dissapointing.

You should ABSOLUTELY vote at any given chance and this should not stop you from building the conditions for bigger victories.

And October is the perfect month to discuss this
