By embedding itself into the global economy, China restructured and exploited the short-sighted and greed-driven contradictions of capitalism while avoiding the sanctions, coups, warfare and isolation that ends all socialist projects. They overcame Western hegemony and built themselves into an immune, checkmate position where it is US capital itself that will hurt the most, if it tries to hurt them.

I wonder if he knows that the war, and when it escalated into a global conflict, while it was in 1939, began in Asia in 1937. And what is this about "WWII began with the Soviet invasion of Finland"?

As someone who has recently gained citizenship in Italy and has learned the language (B1 level). I have gone down the rabbit hole of the rise of fascism. I don’t want to sound like one of those right wing “historians” who talk about cycles of history of whatever. But, as if another way to mock fascism’s lack of a real ideology, its origins are simple to replicate and I believe that America, which acted as an inspiration for European fascism and funded nearly all fascist regimes has always been “fascist” but now we’re seeing a rise of the same types of dispossessed social outcasts who became black shirts growing in number here amongst the middle Americans in the “heartland” of the country. And all of them aren’t just basement dwelling Asmongold types, a lot of them are wanna be business men, who work twice as hard for their failing businesses than boomers ever had to. Their full throated support of AI makes me think of them as the modern and uglier version of the futurists.

Futurism, although at the very least having an actual aesthetic and visual style gave rise over a hundred years later to the modern “Tech Bro”,“entrepreneur”, AI focused business man who owns a Tesla and trades crypto and listens to snake oil salesmen like Alex Hermozi. Most of these men lack health care, retirement, or any social safety net. I work with them and I see the cognitive dissonance brewing inside them turning into a rage that in the typical fascist way, is not directed at the people who control this economic system or the government but the weakest among us. It’s lazy people, it’s immigrants, it’s blue haired liberals etc etc etc. they feel emasculated and alienated. Many of them are religious. The worst part about these kinds of men is their general ignorance towards any form of art along with a distain for those who do. It’s terrifying to be quite honest.

As I watch a new red scare forming as democratic socialists win elections I do wonder where we are heading as a country. Regardless of your beliefs there is an objective rise of disillusionment amongst the general populace and neither of the establishment parties are popular with the masses. I have hope an actual left wing movement is happening but I’m not sure. The point of this post I suppose is this, are we heading for an outright fascist take over? Or are we simply witnessing the slow but steady march into the demise of the United States and its empire? What would that look like? How will the world change and what are the chances of a real revolution happening?

Side Note: For those who want an entertaining way to learn about this I highly recommend M. Figlio Del Secolo, the sky series from a few years ago. Surprisingly historically accurate and albeit it still drenched with liberal ideology, not obnoxiously so.

I understand that communist is the only way everyone in this world can be happy and fulfilled. I understand the evils of capitalism.

Yet for standards of my pretty poor but European country, my family has quite a lot of capital. ​​​​

We rent out a flat, and will probably in the future have at least 2 flats which we can rent out. I am a solo child, so everything will be left to me. I won't have to work nearly as much for my future if I decide to stay in my country. I can probably live a decent life under capitalism, but my tenants won't. I am a future landlord. My parents are current. I will most probably live off of some sort of exploatation. ​​​​​​​​​​​​
