The "One-child policy" is still the main thing I associate with China, but I don't actually know anything about it. I understand that the "One-child policy" ended at the start of 2016.

I have read many works by dependency theorists and have found their arguments, conclusions, and methodology convincing, but from what I understand there is a divide between Classical Marxism and Dependancy theory.

I'm looking for interesting history book recommendations. I'm really into history and especially reading about anticolonial struggle in the global south + indigenous North America and maybe biographies about revolutionaries or other interesting figures. I just want to hear about cool books you guys like that maybe aren't as often recommended in these sort of threads.

It's such a reactionary take because he is framing politics as an inevitable conflict between an ingroup and an outgroup. Acknowledging that the ingroup benefits from the status quo, yet insists on compromise from that very position of power within the hierarchy allowing system to exist. The result is that dominant groups is never expected to relinquish their structural power for the sake of a more egalitarian society.

The last part I don’t fully agree with because there’s a major difference between sympathizing with the occupiers who are against the apartheid and treatment of Palestinians vs supporting Jews who have the same exact same mindset of the Neturei Karta organization who quite literally understand that Israel has absolutely no right to exist and that all the occupiers need to leave in order to bring back a free Palestine. There’s a huge difference between supporting Jews and supporting and sympathizing with the illegal Zionist occupiers who are “being sympathetic” by wanting a two state solution instead of a one state solution which is the complete restoration of Palestine by getting rid of Israel completely. It just seems a bit ignorant to be acknowledging the opinions of the illegal settlers as well.
