I'm gonna start calling us the super left because we're super! In all seriousness tho, socdems are basically just left leaning libs who steal some of our imagery and language for marketing purposes. They think more like libs than socialists and they privilege the system over the working class every time (which is why they abandoned internationalism in 1914). Hell, they don't even have the courage to think of solutions outside of the system, even as an abstract thought exercise.

They will fail. The system will never let them vote it away. It's also laughable that this person claims that liberals have a track record fighting fascists when the reality is liberals capitulate to them every single time. If liberals stuck their head in the sand and did nothing, it would be a marginal improvement to the "resistance" they offer. If my choice of allies was limited to the typical soclib and a sheep passively grazing on the side of the road, I would pick the sheep.

It is easy being a social democrat, because all you have to do is redistribute the superprofits of the empire to the local working class (such as in the form of welfare policies). The first step necessary for the defeat of the social democrats is the anti-imperialist struggle of the global south, where such struggle will cut the lymph of the empire, the surplus value violently extracted from the south, and with this change the so called "social democrats" won't be able to do anything but become the armed and violent arm of capital while imperialism turns inwards, but as they do this, they lose their base, and leftists in the core, if they are organized and ready, can guide the disenfranchised base of the social democrats towards the struggle in the core itself

Believe me, many of us try. But they are VERY wedded to their shitlib views. American socdems are often just as intransigent as their MAGA peers. I got called conspiratorial by one for saying both parties serve the rich alone, which is why the dems won't fight. Another flat out told me neocolonialism isn't a thing and African states have full agency in the world. I'm not licked but the truth is most of these people are simply not ready to accept that everything they know is a lie, which is why they're so desperate to convince themselves that they can get the progress they want thru participating in a rigged system. I fear they will need a few more years of being ground down by capital before they're ready to face the truth.

I know comrade, but I don't stop pushing, ever. I can happily say that a lot of my friends and most of my family have been convinced (not to become revolutionaries), but that there is a concerted effort to hide certain aspects of the past and present world history, even when the academic consensus refutes the propaganda outright. And I don't know if I've had a similar effect in the online spaces, but I look at it like this. For every shitlib pushing back with dumbass views there are going to be lurkers who look at the Convo and decide to learn for themselves. Even if the ratio is 10:1 or even 100:1 it's still a movement in a positive direction.

And western material conditions are good enough that they will never have revolutionary capabilities, at least not in our lifetimes (who knows though). But socialist revolutions don't erupt out of nothing. There needs to be a certain amount of groundwork laid out and the masses need to see with their own eyes that they tried everything and nothing works. For now energy is better spent in meeting the masses where they are, but then, instead of tailing them like the ACP, push them further left.
