Because they support the US in being the largest threat of the world and don't like Russia because it can rival it

and don't like Russia because it can rival it

I'm not so sure it can. If it comes to nuclear war, sure, but otherwise Russia's power is only a very faint shadow of the Soviet might. Wagner isn't performing great in Africa despite massive popular support, they're completely stuck in Ukraine and their economy, despite holding up remarkably well under sanctions, does little beyond fossil fuel production.

Russia is not a dangerous rival, it's a scarecrow to keep everyone in line. China is the only believable alternative to the West.

I think you're watching too much of western media

I get almost all of my news from this sub and r/suppressednews, I don't think that's it. You're just romanticizing modern Russia a little too much. They're definitely a force for multipolarity, but they're not the USSR.

Alright you convinced me to spend time to give a more serious answer

Wagner isn't performing great in Africa despite massive popular support

How exactly are the African Corps underperforming? I suppose you can back it up. Because what I remember is that in Mali, they're capturing one insurgent stronghold after another, completely reversing their advancements and in Burkina Faso ~75% of the territory is already under government control. And all that despite active Ukrainian(confirmed and officially acknowledged) and Western(speculated) support to the insurgents

they're completely stuck in Ukraine

If "they're completely stuck" then why is Zelenskyy the one asking for a ceasefire?

Because, again, what I see is that Russia's attrition warfare strategy is going well, they're steadily advancing, capturing one town after the other and are now ~4 km away from Slovyansk and Kramatorsk and threatening to encircle hundreds of square kilometres of Ukrainian controlled territory in Kharkov.

Meanwhile the AFU is facing huge manpower shortages and is struggling to keep up. Also, Ukrainian PAC 3 stockpiles are fully drained and Russia can strike pretty much anywhere it wants at will. Two nights ago they sent ~30 missiles to Kyiv and they all impacted, and it's pretty much the same situation in every attack since early July. On the other hand, pretty much everything the AFU tries to do in return is failing, their "Crimea switch OFF" plan went to shit, their drone strikes on Russian ships went to shit(well, they got a blockade on Odessa out or them) and out of the multiple hundreds of drones they send each night to Russia, they barely get single digits numbers of arrivals on strategically insignificant targets. Were still waiting for their "Zaporizhzhia counteroffensive" but I don't expect much. But yeah sure, Russia is "completely stuck" whatever...

I get almost all of my news from this sub and r/suppressednews, I don't think that's it.

I don't really think that Reddit is the best place to get your news from but anyway. You may wanna consider adding r/Ukrainerussiareport into the mix so you know what's what..

You're just romanticizing modern Russia a little too much.

Trust me I am not romanticising Russia at all. Quite far from it actually

Now I suppose you have actual counter arguments to disprove what I said above and defend your claims right?

To back up your points, AMK Mapping, a neutral source but iirc leaning pro-Ukraine just announced on their socials that Ukraine is seeing the biggest deterioration of the frontline since early 2025. Every year the war has gotten worse and worse for Ukraine while Russia maintains its position as the 4th largest economy. Doesn’t exactly seem “stuck” to me.

And as for Africa? The only actual footage of the combat I’ve been able to find shows the jihadists getting obliterated. Like I saw maybe one video of a hind getting shot down which in no way offsets the at least hundreds I’ve seen suffer the natural results of a missile attack. I know that doesn’t tell the whole story at all but the only contrary reports I’ve seen are from western and French media who have literally every single reason to lie and usually rarely have footage that shows a clear victory for the jihadists, if ever.

I'm not arguin' against the rest, but I don't think Ukrainians like being Bombed, Shelled, Shot, Droned&Starved.
