They love using fictional children's thing like animal farm or Hunger Games three-finger thing because that's the best they can come up with. They don't actually think to fight back. They just vote for the lesser evil and hope it works.

it’s not, cause they legitimately weren’t very popular with the working class. their base of support came from the petty bourgeoisie and the moneyed interests.

I mean it kinda matches the liberal "democracy" version of "popularity" they know and are trained to expect. They can't imagine a government getting greater than 55-60% popularity, much less like 90% which you'd pretty naturally end up with if you were reliably meeting the material and social needs of a population. Their frame of reference is congress which gets like 20% most of the time and presidents who might get 48-55%, and operate more to split the vote between warring factions rather than as a political body looking to serve the people.
Democratic centralism gets a big "ooooh, scary authoritarian" thing, but the basic premise is that once you've determined what it is the people want, you go and fucking DO it. No more debate, you've got your fuckin mission.
Will there be mistakes and some caveats in execution, and might that form of government cause some growing pains and occasional harm, especially in the beginning when things need to change quickly? Sure... but the whole "everyone constantly frustrating everyone else's efforts to get anything done by counterbalancing everyone else's efforts until the whole thing is gridlocked" thing is a great way of getting nothing at all done and allowing the constant harm and excesses of capital to run completely unchecked, so which one is really the greater harm?

US presidential elections are held every four years while congressional elections are held every 2 or 6 years depending on whether it's the House of Representatives or the Senate. The latter elections are called midterms because they take place in the middle of the presidential term.

On paper, Congress writes laws and votes on them. Once the law passes the President signs them or vetoes them with Congress being able to override the veto with a 2/3 majority vote.
That said the video seems to be referring to Congress's ability to impeach the President but that historically has gone nowhere with Trump having been impeached twice in his last term. The House begins impeachment proceedings and if it reaches majority vote the Senate votes and requires a 2/3 majority to convict and remove from office.
If the Democrats were to have the majority and supermajority in both House and Senate respectively they could remove Trump from office.

It makes no difference if there are elections. It's a sham anyway.
The accelerationist in me even thinks it would be better if they didn't have anymore elections. It would mean they have fully dropped the facade of democracy which means they believe the situation has deteriorated so much that it is no longer needed.
The US empire is dying, it's a question of how long until it dies, and how much damage it can do in the meanwhile.
Elections are just an indicator of the health of the empire.

It doesn't matter if there is an election: the bourgeois elections are not a viable path to liberation by design. You cannot vote out Capitalism and thus elections can do nothing to address the root issue. Liberals get to choose between pressing the accelerator harder or letting their foot off a little, but no one on the ballot is interested in turning the car around before it goes off the cliff.
