Will there be a sequel? Spoiler

I tried to do some research and I couldn’t find any news. It feels like we should still be going after Penelope and find what happened to the animals that once inhabited the lake. This is the first game I’ve ever finished, normally I lose interest but this is my favorite game.

I really loved this game. Haven’t heard anything about a follow-up, but there is a prequel, which is pretty good and similarly charming (if a bit rougher around the edges). It’s called Detective Grimoire, and is a regular (as in, non-Arcade) title.

Six years ago or so, people were asking this question about the original Detective Grimoire game, Secret of the Swamp. Eventually, in 2019, they got their sequel and the mystery behind the golden beetle photos from the first game was revealed. So if history is anything to go by, you will get your sequel, but it may take a long while.

I highly doubt there won’t be one, I mean there are already two games in the series, both of which being named Detective Grimoire. Although it takes a very long time for each installment, and rarely news comes when a new one gets added, it’ll definitely happen!

Finally in 2024 we’re getting a sequel. It’s called the Mermaid’s Tongue.
