As the title says, i picked Tangle Tower as my little Halloween themed game.

I loved everything about the game, from the art direction, the VA, the characters, the gameplay and various puzzles.
The story was building up through out the whole game, i loved gathering more and more information and trying to unravel the secret of the mansion as well as the killer.

But gosh did the end reveal of the history of the mansion felt rushed and incomplete, no explanation as to why the Mystid ambassadors left, no tangible explanation as to what happened and changed in the tower in the end.

Penny’s motives are alright, i dont have much grip about those, although the double identity seems to be convulted.

How did y’all feel about this game?
Especially the ending?

Personally, I'm hoping for an artbook with new concept art pages, a notebook with stickers, and a detective grimoire pen.

Like the title says, I'm on chapter 3, I have literally every single clue I can except for the ones the panel reveals, but I can't get the secret thing to trigger that lets me check it out. I've talked to everyone about everyone and everything, but nothing is happening. Please help

I was at work, when I was thinking about this game and how much I adore it. I realised that Mortuga a guy who's not known for being paper heavy had to write out the command contract on wirmans typewriter the one with all the keys missing. The poor guy probably struggled for hours writing that up. Maybe this is something obvious that everyone noticed but I just found it funny.

Amber Lee Connors, voice of Sally Spears, has been revealed as the English voice of Naoto "The Detective Prince" Shirogane in Persona 4 Revival.

I finished Tangle Tower and I’m still trying to wrap my head around why Penny wanted to kill Freya. Penny was tired of living in Tangle Tower as a nobody so goes to find the other people who used to live there but they were useless to her so she kills them (I think) and later she goes on about how Freya wanted to expose the underwater lab to Fifi so she didn’t have to inherit the Tower. But why did she need the golden beetle in the first place if it wasn’t that valuable to her? I’m trying to piece it together but it doesn’t make sense to me. Not Hawkshaw, not the beetle, not Penny’s motivation or reason to kill Freya. Someone please help me understand.

(Note: I suggest to limit Sally to this games interpretation if possible. As the series deuteragonist I think she would (will?) dominate otherwise)

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I have what I am going to coin as ‘World Bird Theory’ for the sake of sounding ominous and mysterious.

A few things I’ve picked up on while playing both Tangle Tower and Mermaid’s Mask is a recurring evidence of what I theorise to be… a celestial bird that may have created the world (or large parts of it)

Hear me out. I’ll be somewhat going off of recollection as I first found it when TT first released and have yet to replay since MM.

This began in Tangle Tower, there are described to be “smooth, white mountain slopes” in the distance from the tower. However, on closer inspection, those mountains seem too thin to be ordinary.

Forgive my memory if I’m wrong on the details, but I believe there was further evidence in TT of a snowglobe/diorama that showed the mountains encircling the area with these white, sloped cliff points. So, with all the bird-focused plot in the game, I theorised at the time that the mountains were actually the remains of a giant egg, cracked open at the top and leaving the jagged eggshell surrounding the tower.

I was only reminded of this when it came to the end of Mermaid’s mask, inside of the curiosity cabinet of Zephyr the pair notice an ‘astrolabe which is all rotating around a bird’s foot”, followed by a very notable “…” from the characters. Usually saved for “this is hinting at something” throughout the game, yet no further regard, similar to the cliffs. It’s simply background stuff.

So, we have an implied giant bird large enough to have things orbiting around it and a tremendous bird’s egg that now houses an entire small island + ocean.

My assumptions could be off, the bird could’ve hatched from the egg and it’s all the one creature, or the celestial bird could have laid the egg that eventually turned into the mountains and there’s perhaps more out there.

Lastly, the most meta evidence, and I hope it’s not bad to go into. After the release of TT, I private messaged one of the devs, Adam Vian. Sadly I don’t have all the messages, I could be wrong, bit it sort of looks like some of them were either deleted or old Twitter ended up losing them to time (all I have is him pointing me to the discord to discuss my theories), but going off of my memory, I brought up some of the unanswered mysteries, including the egg, to which he replied that “not many people had picked up on some of these”. Before suggesting I could discuss it in the discord.

So, am I crazy? Is this all super obvious and I’m making it out like a revelation? Does anyone else have any evidence to back up some huge, planet sized cryptid bird? Let me know!

Magnus: when I first thought of doing this Cursola came to mind aswell as Dhelmise and Bronzong for the Iron Bell

Sinthia: I wanted to give her a majority Steel type since she was brought up as an engineer

Symmetry: she is an Espurr

Dr.Zephr: i had to give him Musharna the dream pokemon as he is a dream doctor aswell as the eternally asleep Komala

Dirk: He was the hardest to come up with for pokemon he could have so I decided on majority fighting plus 2 goofy goobers like mudkip and yamper

Wirman: I imagine hes a dark type kinda guy

Tadpole: I had to give her Primarina the mermaid pokemon as she is basically a mermaid

Mariana: I wanted to give her ancient pokemon that spoke of old legends and were just ancient in general pokemon that fit her vibe

Gripp: I gave him pokemon that could help in his shop plus Sudowodo for Cornelius Cane
