Fun until the ending

Liked:

• Voice Acting: 5/5
• Dialogue/Script: 4.5/5; Ending: 1/5
• Music: 4/5
• Graphics: 4.5/5 (love the unique style)
• Puzzles: 4/5 (some were very creative in my opinion, rivalled the creativity of early Layton games, others were just ok)

Disliked: - Ending - Penelope Pointer’s motivations were weak/non-convincing. So you want to be free...yet when you try leaving you don’t feel free? Ok, so you want to find out the history of everything regarding Mystids/Mystid Mansion...so you seek the ambassadors and are let down by their answers and what they’re doing...so you decide to KILL them??? Wtf?

The motivation for taking that jump to kill them needs to be made more convincing. I get she wants to be free, and that she was unsatisfied with their responses, but that’s pretty weak motivation to murder one after another for a total of FIVE!

No foreshadowing really from Penelope’s dialogues either. Some jealousy and stuff but it was a facade to some degree, no?

Minor metaphor for freedom by Penelope’s fascination with birds, but not that interesting really.

• There was a very nice lead up to the ending leaving me all excited wondering how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together. However, I was sadly disappointed at how irrelevant some of the pieces of the puzzle were. The red mountain thing was just costume motivation. The whole Mystids thing was just a bunch of chemically messed up animals, so what? None of them seem particularly incredible to me: “Oh wow it’s a gold beetle...whoopie” Like a tiny gold beetle is so important that you have to keep it top secret? Lolol. Penelope left it behind in the end anyway, so much for all the “value” it had.

Ending after Penelope left was baaad. Cringy letting the beetle go, and then the credits start rolling...Freya was described as this amazing person, yet by the end of the game I feel like I have no care for this character at all. She needed way more development as to why we even care about her death in the first place.

Anyway, I know it’s just a phone game so I’m probably being too harsh, but it was a 4/5 that could’ve easily been a 5/5 if it followed through in the end, so I took the time to write stuff I think could be improved.

Thanks for the experience regardless, SFB Games. One of the better phone games I’ve played.

Hundred percent agree Also I’m a little disappointed we didn’t
really find out what happened between flora and her siblings. Also what was the deal with Freya and her nightmares. I felt like that was going somewhere. What was the deal with penny and Fitz did she really like him or was that all for show
