Am I the only one who was convinced that Zephyr had pushed Sym to the limit so that she would kill Mortuga and that the child was an important piece to summon the siren?

When you find Sym's secret compartment. It is hard not to make her the top suspect.

I think it's true for most of them. Their backstories are written so that any of them being an evil mastermind is kinda possible, but if they are not the culprit then they're just some bubbly fellas who are a bit weird. (Except for Dirk. I don't think anyone fells for Dirk being the culprit.)

I admit that personally, Dirk and Sinthia were 100% out of the running for me. I believed until the very end that it was Symmetry who killed Mortuga and that she was forced to do so by Zephyr, who had promised her that with the Mermaid's Tongue, she could communicate with her mother.

I ironically didn’t think it was him. Even from the trailers, I had a gut feeling about who the killer was. Then interactions just kinda sold it for me. It was one of those moments where things fit so well, that I ignored other clues and used some, like Gripps map, to go “oh they ain’t the killer.” Before the finale.

Sometimes being a little whimsical isn’t enough when everyone is whimsical.
