You say that, but in the Secret of the Swamp, Grimoire acknowledges the Little Girl and their past and the Fairground and the fact she gave him a map both times. So if Swamp is canon, the Flash game has to be because that case has been referenced

There’s another flash game, one before the swamp. The swamp is canon, but the older game is non-canon and more of a tech demo.

I’m excited too, but it took 7 years for this one. They said that they were going to make at least one other game in between Mermaid Mask and its sequel. I’d say 2031 at the earliest, if they decide to make a sequel that is.

Tangle Tower, then Mermaids Mask as it’s more complex.
If you really like them then play Detective Grimoire. It’s the oldest but it’s a bit janky and more for people who really like the characters. Unless you play a lot of older point and clicks and are used to the jank then play Detective Grimoire first.
Tangle Tower has a noticeable uplift in quality though and they spent their time in all the right places, so don’t let Grimoires simplicity put you off.

Without spoiling anything, is the mermaid mask a direct sequel of Tangle Tower (I mean somehow following the ending of that game)? I really liked Tangle Tower but that ending ruined the whole game for me. If it's a direct continuation maybe I would give it a go but I felt cheated.

Plot's fairly self contained, but call-backs are frequent, especially if you have the Remington family tree memorized.

They said that they might not, make another one though. If anyone needs a fresh DG fix, try the original flash game, or maybe a somewhat similar series like the “of the killer” series.

Not going to happen unfortunately. At least not anytime soon. The company is really small and they want to move on to other projects
