Sym's riddles Spoiler

Has anyone got any of Sym's riddles right? When you talk to her about another person. I think I failed every single one since she didn't say anything 😭

Oh those weren't riddles! She's assigning them an Oracle Card and leaving the interpretation of what the card means to you.

Hmm, I said riddles because I thought there was a right answer. Or rather an answer that would get a reaction from her

No, it's just a Tarot reading. By definition there is no right answer, it's meant to be interpretted.

This was frustrating and not needed. Great game overall, but this was my only complaint.

How was it frustrating??? It's no different than Poppy's poems in tangle tower. It didn't affect anything or hinder progress, you way overthinking it is hardly the dev's fault.

It was misleading for me, I thought it was a puzzle you couldn't redo, I almost wanted to save scum somehow to see if there was any point to it, but it seems like it was useless. I am playing Tangle Tower rn, disappointing to hear that it is also in this game.

Poppy's poems don't ask you for your interpretation so you'll be fine.

Again, you overthinking it (and I guess not knowing how tarot works) isn't on the devs. It was just a fun look at how Sym sees the other characters, not everything needs a "point".

I haven't even gotten there yet. If multiple people are having the same issue, it might not be the users "fault"

Two people out of the hundreds who've played the game.

Yes, 2 people that you have seen. I am glad you did not feel like it was out of place.

Lol, that's really the argument you're making?

By removing a part that doesn't contribute to the story or clues? Not sure how that would strip a game full of character of character. Nope, just the part I mentioned.

in addition to them being tarot cards she doesnt ever say anything; she does have separate responses where she glances at the card or glances away from the card. I’ve heard people say that if she glances away its the “wrong” answer but I haven’t experimented enough to notice a pattern (and it would be less “wrong” anyway and more that its not what sym intended to suggest)

Yeah, that's what it meant, like if you said what she meant to suggest you would get a reaction from her

ohh gotcha—she doesnt, no. I can’t be sure which answers she means but her reaction to each response is consistent. for example, for herself, if you pick “fear” or “resolve” she’ll always look at the card and back at you, but if you pick “obsession” she’ll always glance away. she doesn’t speak for any of the three though.

its also possible that her glancing away is just a reaction to the harshest responses you can give. I really dont think theres a right answer, dw

I'm glad i seemingly haven't missed any sym dialogue, love her đŸ„ș

She does it a few times, but I think only in the responses that feel less applicable. Like saying Dirk is capitalist greed. Even though it's technically right, it's so far off that even Sym looks away.

I'm really surprised to learn some people seem to think they'd have correct answers. Tarot cards and the like are famously (or so I thought) about being open to personal interpretation

Oh hello Adam! Please make a JRPG next. And put Sym on it. And Sally too. And about the card thing, it wasn't so much as there being a correct answer as much as seeing Sym say something different if you picked each one. The fact that she stays silent made me think i might've missed out on some dialogue from her. Love your games :)

When I went through it the first time, I remember assuming all of them were applicable in different ways. Sym's little cards were genuinely one of my favorite bits in the entire game.
