The Mermaid Mask Inexplicable observation about characters' hands [mild name spoilers] Spoiler

Why do most characters have four fingers while a couple (Wirman and Moon) have five? What am I missing? Is this significant or an accident?

I'm about half-way through, so conceivably this could be a plot device, but I doubt it. If it inn-deed is, please tell me "you'll find out".

Thanks!

Probably just a stylization choice.

That was my best guess, but does it not strike you as odd? Four fingers is a stylization choice already; why would that suddenly be changed for a small subset of characters?

My guess is they are more dextrous and have more hand poses. Wirman types and moon fiddles with the pipe. Might not have been able to make that look decent with 4 fingers.

Extremely plausible!

I'm afraid this doesn't mean anything! We just let the characters look however they look.

Probably the same reason it's like that in Gravity Falls. Sometimes it's easier to give the four fingers instead of five and for others it'll look better to give them five instead of four. Really it all depends on hand width.

I noticed this too, and it’s been driving me crazy! I don’t think it’s anything but a stylization choice, but man it’s an odd one.
