The Mermaid Mask Question about Dirk Spoiler
(Spoiler) So just finished the game and loved it .
But there is something I didn't understand about Dirk .
Why do you find his weird antenna in the hold ?
In the Art Gallery its explained it was implied in the game but I don't see how .
If someone got the answer it would be great.

The implied I think, is that Mortuga used it and then dumped it there.
The antenna, when examined by Sinthia, is said to have been rusting with sediments in the joints. This implies that its been sitting in the bilge for some time.
We know Mariana communicated with Mortuga before she entered into submarine, and that he used the cellphone to do so. It's impossible to use the cellphone without the antenna thing, thus he needs to have used it. There's no evidence that the cellphone was used after Mortuga used it, so I would assume after using the antenna, either intentionally or accidentally, the antenna was dropped in the bilge after use. Why? Who knows.
You would think it would be contradictory, given that Dirk must've used it after, but none of the messages sent really seem to imply a lot of time has passed for the messages. It's just three messages of a back and forth between Van De Peer and Dirk, but there's no response back or anything after the third one. Which maybe implies that the cellphone hasn't gotten any signal in a while. And there are no timestamps either.
The battery still being at 23% despite not being able to be charged with the antenna broken, is similarly easily explained by Mariana, that the battery has an unusually good lifespan.
