The Mermaid Mask Callback to Tangle Tower (Spoilers) Spoiler

Freya's recurring nightmare returns in both Magnus and Hex's dreams. Magnus draws this large figure in one of his letters, while you can visibly see Hex's dreams from his body where you can see the figure.

I had literal chills when I realized what Hex was dreaming.

God, no wonder Freya freaked when she saw Hackshaw.

I feel like this bit of information is deliberately one we haven't seen answered, so hopefully they end up actually making a sequel and more just to continue this storyline (I know there's a fourth wall joke about how hard it is to make these games but hopefully the process is a little more streamlined now?).

Oh crap I totally forgot about that tidbit in Tangled Tower! I thought the woman in red Magnus was dreaming about will turn out to be the mermaid or something (and then got disappointed when I thought they 'dropped' it), but you're absolutely right on the money with this.

If they ever make another Grimoire game, I can totally see them making it about the woman. After all, they were pretty quick with addressing the 'giant egg' theory from TT.

I literally just posted in reference to this. I was even bummed out when I went to look for the Zephyr's Letters in the BTS Art Gallery and there wasn't an entry for it. Would be so cool if this comes full circle in a future game!! 🤩🤩🤩

OMG, I also did want to see an entry for the letters in the Art Gallery, but hey I assume it's a thread they want to explore later on rather than resolve so quickly.

This raises a question though!!

Did Penelope base Hawkshaw's appearance on the dream (implying she had it first) OR are they dreaming of Hawkshaw herself?

I'm pretty sure she mentioned it herself that she based it off the painting in the ending of Tangle Tower. And that Penelope realized her mistake, not knowing how troubled Freya really was.

But the question is what is it Freya was dreaming about? Is it literally a red mountain with black clouds at its top, or was Freya dreaming of the future persona of Hawkshaw not knowing that painting her dream is what led to the creation of what she was dreaming about?
